Did I Get Ripped Off on Z06 Chrome Wheels
I purchase (at least what I was told) 2015 z06 chrome take off wheels.
They have GM stamped on the back of them, but they also have "built in china" on them.
When I wiped down the inside of the barrel, part of the finish came off. I will be posting some pics, but I am pissed.
If anyone knows or seen what the factory markings should look like, please let me know.

Wow, Even my old lowly 2011 Grand Sport had Speedlines from Italy. China....seriously?

Got Boost?!
Some of GM parts are made in China. It is possible that the wheels were cleaned or soaked in wheel cleaner that is harmful to chrome, happens all the time.

All of the 2014 and early 2016 wheels for Corvette were coming from China.Starting around 8/15 the wheels are now made by Speedline in Mexico including new Zo6 wheels. Our experience so far is that all the Gm wheels from both suppliers are excellent quality

How much did you pay for them? Did you buy them directly from the original owner? If so, perhaps that person can have them covered under warranty? I doubt GM would warranty them for you if they weren't original equipment on your car.

I too prefer the Nickel finish wheels and got them with my car. BUT, everyone, including my children, said it would look better with black wheels. So...I broke down and bought OEM black wheels/tires and will be putting them on when my Cup 2's wear out.
Gottta look cool for my kids.

I think black wheels look like you are driving around on those spare donuts they use for spares these days. To each his own. These great cars would be boring if everyone liked the same wheels.

I don't care for black but I am considering ordering spectra gray to go with NRB. I have looked at the combo on the build site but hope to see the combination in person before placing an order in a couple of months.

The option is $2,000 for chrome wheels.
I just took mine off this weekend to clean the inside of them. Yes they are stamped made in china and the inside surface I noticed is very rough. I have not had any issue with any finish coming off. So far the chrome has been near perfect.

Yes, I purchased them from the original owner. The chrome is perfect. My biggest concern would be to put aftermarket knockoffs on my z06. Not worth taking a chance with knockoffs with the stress the wheels could be under during "spirited" driving.
