Several forum members have posted that they painted them. And we have several forum vendors (RPI, SCP, etc.) who sell them already painted in body-matched colors and Carbon Flash.
It would have been nice if GM would have designed the Z06 with wider front fenders to match the wider rear fenders. It looks as though the OEM spats are already an aftermarket option.

In removed my spats, sanded them smooth, primed them with a plastic primer, then painted them with carbon flash black. I added carbon flash black flaps and wrapped them with Suntek film. Looks good on my SG.
