Default Removing intake plenum

I want to remove my intake plenum to see if any oil has been sucked into the intake after 2500 miles as reported by others on this forum. I also purchased a gospel catch can / oil separator. The installation of this can requires removing it as well.
MY QUESTION IS :
1. IS there a gasket that needs to be replaced upon removal?
2. What is the torque spec to retighten the intake bolts?

Thanks for all the help,
Jim

technically it's not the plenum you're removing, it's the top
cover on the supercharger. the molded neoprene gasket is
reusable. doubt there are any torque specs available yet but
i would go hand tight.

Notice the force it takes to break the bolts loose than give at least that amount when reinstalling the bolts. I snugged mine down good, I would really jump around from side to side, etc. and not all at once to full torque.

Hey Jim,
There is 1 long seal around the outer edge of the cover and 4 smaller ones around the center 4 bolts. Retorque the cover bolts to 10nm +-2nm.
Start with the 3rd from the rear pass. side, move across the center 2, then the 3rd from the rear driver side. Move forward to the next bolt, go back across to the pass. side. Then 2nd from rear pass. 2nd from rear driver, move forward to the 2nd from front driver, 2nd from front pass then all the rear ones, then all the front ones (remaining 3 along the front.) Then, do the center 8 a second time.

multiplied nm by .738 to get foot pounds.

Example: 10nm times .738= 7.38

Also:

Multiply foot pounds by 12 to get inch pounds.

Example: 7.38 foot pounds times 12= 89 inch pounds (rounded up)

So, 10nm+2nm= 8.8 ft lbs?
Thanks

That's 10 nm +- (plus or minus) 2nm. You dropped the - (minus).
Just so others don't feed you the wrong Ft LB equivalent.
You can be between 8 and 12 NM but get as close to 10NM as you can. All our equipment torques to within a 1/2 a NM of 10.

May be corny! but I believe its better to show someone how to fish than just giving him "a fish" to satisfy his hunger for the moment.

I would check that. Sounds way too tight to me I would hate to twist one off! I use a 1/4 inch
drive and just snug them.
Cross tighten the center four then every other one twice around the outside.

When tight, the 10mm bolt bottoms out due to compression of the "O" ring gaskets. Once they are bottomed, you won't be able to turn much further w/o a lot of added torque. Maybe add a 1/16 of a turn using 1/4 drive ratchet.

Make sure to tighten in cross pattern.
