I am away on business and do not have my owners manual or car with me so yes I am bored. The question I have is when pulling into a parking spot do I have to shift into reverse then into drive to activate the front camera?

Nope. Touch the screen. There is a camera icon on the top right. When you select that the front cameras are activated. Must be going less than 5mph I think.
Correct. Just touch the camera button on the center screen. Did you get my message and email?

You do touch the button to activate the camera, but after you press the camera button the first time there is an extremely annoying message panel that blocks the entire screen for at least a few seconds and then a Dismiss button lets you clear it. The whole thing is extremely disruptive while you're trying to park.
I guess I don't mind the touch-screen button, but the nag screen that appears AFTER EVERY RESTART is completely necessary and you have to sit there and wait while you clear it out.
I really wish GM had a way to edit the programming on this car like I can do with my Audi. I would disable all those nag screens that do nothing but ruin the experience.
