Default Want to drive your C7 Z06 in the Winter without issues?

After receiving many phone calls about the tire issues cold weather can create I figured we better find a solution for all of the C7 Z owners who want to drive year round. Currently, there is not a 325/25-20 winter or all-season tire available from any of the manufacturers which we carry.

Here's what I have come up with ...

Pirelli Sotto Zero 3

275/35-19 fronts

305/30-20 rears

They do fit the OE wheels and will not cause any issues with the on-board computers.

While the front tire is a "V" speed rated tire while the rear is a "W" rated tire but, this combo will work fine on your car and I cannot find any other options for cold weather use.

here are some pictures of the 305/30-20 on a 20x12 wheel

Hey the man is offering folks an option (in an honest and classy way), and should be commended. You don't want em, don't buy em.

Thanks Luke.

Sottozeros are fantastic winter tyres. I used them, (thanks Luke!), on my 2013 M5 and the car went everywhere. YMMV depending on the depth of snow you receive though.

I ran them on my Stingray and CTS-V. Great tires. Are there any hopes of Winter or A/S tires coming in the OEM sizes?

I don't understand why anyone would winter the car. You can't use the performance aspect any drivability suffers greatly etc.

I like to drive the car in the winter, when its nice and the roads are salt free and bad weather isnt coming.

Then with snow and ice on the roads the Corvette looks out of place. I much rather drive a 2016 Tacoma 4x4 in the winter.
Then you get the tires on and drive all winter and are rewarded with pits all over the paint and windshield.
Nope not for my Corvette's!

The Vette has always be my only car so I have to drive it all year long! an,d depending on where you live, winter might be quiet long!

The only thing I don-t like in that is to put tires that don't match the wheel size. No doubt that in case of crash the insurance will badly look at this!!!

Many people do not realize how much difference the correct tire can create.

it's a car and many people drive sports cars in the winter ...

you would be surprised how well a Corvette can do in the winter with the correct tire.

------------------------------------------------------------------

The tires the car comes with do not even like temperatures below 40 degrees and there are many days when it's sunny and dry during most winters

Is there a better "rain" tire than this winter weather set up or are these suitable for extreme wet weather conditions? I ask because I need a wet weather tire set up for the track and this seems like a viable option.

Thanks

I love my car so much I want to drive it as much as possible. And I flip it every few years. Never when I traded did the dealer ask hey did you drive this thing in the winter???

Everyone is different if this is your dream car and you don't see another in your future by all means baby it.

I can tell you this as Luke says with the right tires it does so well in the snow.

Guy followed me last year to chastise me ...hey you can't drive that car in the snow it will rust........and my response was not in my lifetime.

And remember you get winter tires and it a perfect sunny day at -5....... you can drive your car w/o a cracking issue. I think there are 2 types of winter drivers........those that take on the snow and salt and those who want tires that will handle cold dry weather.

Each to their own.

My first Corvette a 2000 never saw the rain. Thought it was a one and done car. Had it 13 years and traded it and none of the garage queen status mattered.

Thanks
these are not suited to warm weather at all and definitely not a track tire
