Default Help me decide!

I've finally received my TPW 10/19/2015 for my Laguna Blue Corvette after many months of waiting. On a previous topic of mine I was trying to build me a perfect corvette. Unfortunately I had to compromise and not get the carbon fiber ground effects since they're on constraint but everything else is there

2016 3LZ Laguna Blue Z07 A8
FAY: Trim Interior, Carbon Fiber
C2Z: Roof Panel, Visible Carbon Fiber Removable Roof
B92: Hood Insert, Exposed Carbon Fiber Weave
AE4: Seat, Competition Sport Bucket
TTV: Mirrors, Outside, Carbon Flash Painted
IWE: Suede Microfiber Wrapped Upper Interior Trim Package
196: Jet Black. Leather seating surfaces with sueded microfiber inserts

Now this is where I can't decide yet...I've read many topics on the matter but I'm still unsure. Should I stay with the A8 or go with the M7? I have a 2011 Mustang GT Manual transmission that I use as my everyday commuter but being in bumper to bumper traffic blows.

The Corvette will be used on Weekends only, this is where I'm unsure if I should stick with the Auto or go Manual.

I just ordered a Stingray and the EASIEST decision in spec'ing it out was picking the M7

I've seen so many of these threads over the years with guys constantly asking if they should go auto or manual. I always think if you're unsure, get the auto.

For a lot of track use, probably A8.

For weekend road use, I'd definitely go with the M7, more involving if you're not racing the car, and it is a fantastic transmission.

I went with the m7.

If you deal with traffic like I do in LA ... Go 8A... If you learn how to use the paddles you can be engaged with the car not like a stick but definitely not going to be like a regular auto either .. I have a 2016 8A I love driving now even in traffic ...

Either way you can't go wrong. It all depends what you want to do with it. If you don't care about being quickest, then enjoy rowing your gears.
Please post pic of the suede package as I am contemplating it and have not been able to find any real pics.

I have a Cobra replica with a stick. My Z06 has the A8. I don't miss rowing gears one bit with this sweet auto. If I get the urge to, I have the Cobra. Sounds like if you are keeping the Mustang, you can row in that. My $.02

I think you'll like either one but for me the m7 is just more fun.

A8 in sport or track mode, you just blip the throttle and it rev matches to a nice roll race ready RPM. I hate using the paddles, I use the throttle.

Someone Correct me if I'm wrong but if you already have a tpw, you can't make any changes. You are stuck with the A8. I have the A8 and love it

By the way, in reading your build configuration, it sounds like it's going to be a beautiful, very well equipped car. Considering that you're really going "all out" with regard to options, I'd (personally) really give some consideration to the body-colored vents for $995 (retail.) I've seen that option on a friends '15 Z06 and it really blends in nicely !!!!!

Anyway..onto the M vs. A................

All the the old debates that would attempt to declare the manual a better choice have, in truth, been pretty well dismissed. Even a "dyed in the wool oarsman" now freely admits that the automatics make for a quicker car.

My opinion.....just another 2¢ worth.......order the A8. I can't imagine that you'd EVER be sorry you did it !!

Good luck either way..................

Oh so after TPW is set there's no going back? I guess my choice has been made

Thanks for the honest opinions everyone, I will post pics after I get car. I saw a Z06 with the white body inserts and to me it didn't sit well. Don't know if it was the all white color. I'm going for the Blue / Black combo. I'm getting this car for me since my wife wants me to buy her the Zora ZR1 later...I'm sure I can convince her and give her the Z06 and I'll get the ZR1 for myself
