OFFICIAL new owner checklist
I’m looking at ordering the Z06 in January, then taking delivery in March. I hope by then some dealer will give me 10K off sticker. In the meantime, I’ve accumulated the OFFICIAL new owner checklist. Am I forgetting anything?
Also, does anyone know the best way to black out the rear end of the car (as shown in pic). I tried, but failed, getting in contact with the owner.
1. get insurance
2. black out rear end
3. oil change at 500 miles
4. lower the car, then do an alignment
5. black tape over red and blue onstar lights
6. OEM splash guards to prevent rock chips
7. xpel or rocker panels to prevent rock chips
8. brake burnishing (Z07 only)
9. black stickers over yellow warnings on visors
10. window tinting
11. chk fluid levels during delivery
12. drag chute #jk

Check for cracks in tires
Slightly heat up warning stickers with hair dryer and peel them off, i just did that and it leaves no residue
Xpel to most of the car
Drop spindles if you get the Z07 because it won't lower enough due to stiffer springs
Halltech Intake for 40+ rwhp and an xpipe for a little more growl from the exhaust
Blue painters tape for added protection for your drive home
Extra condoms for the soon to be rock star status while you're in your car...lol

From my experience, I would say you need splash guards AND Xpel AND rocker panel skirts. I had the first two and I still got stones hitting the rear haunches (lots of stones ended up in the vents in front of the rear wheels and I just got side skirts installed today

Black out the back is just vinyl wrap. Many tint shops can do that for you.
Another example from google images..

consider Road Warrior Plus for extra protection of the paint. It is a roll on paint protection product that works really well. Goes on quickly compared to any other product on the market. Dries clear with a slight matt finish that can only be detected when you are really close to the car. Does a great job of protecting the pain. Comes off easy when you are ready to remove and reapply. Just another option. Jerry

I highly recommend APSIS splash guards.............this is my 3rd Z06 type car I have had them on, all with great success. The OEM guards, and the other GM guards you order from the dealer aren't wider than the tires, so.............now some with side skirts and the other GM guards are reporting good luck on these threads as well.
FYI---Apsis now also has a one piece guard that looks great, but is just too expensive for me when the old ones do the job.

I just got my new daily driver...although my street cred took a beating. The next step is to trade the C6 for a TR/red C7Z06 stage 1 aero with black wheels and black mirrors. You can see in the bottom pic that my C6 air dam scrapes my ordinary driveway in my stock height C6. I wonder what will happen when I lower the C7Z06 all the way down on stock bolts #firstworldproblems
