I dont know where you get your info from but last i saw the Zr1 has a higher top speed ,trap speed through the quarter mile than the c7 z06.In fact you can watch a half mile race between the two on you tube and see how badly the Zr1 pulls away at the top end.

My 2011 3ZR MSO shipping weight showed 3278. Mine is the "heavier" 3ZR ZR1 package. A 1ZR packaged ZR1 is lighter than my 3ZR. Thus, the lightest quoted Stage 1 Z06 coupe from what I have seen from the factory for shipping weight was 3524 (I believe). Thus, that is a 246 pound difference. I do not know how much lighter a 1ZR ZR1 is, but I would assume it could be 20 - 30 pounds, which puts it closer to 300, as he stated.
You're comparing shipping weights with very little fuel to listed curb weights.

GM typically lists their lightest variants, from there, the delta could change.
GM stated the ZR1 weighed 3353#.

GM states the Z06 weighs 3524#.

3524 - 3353 = 171

Go it -

The only thing is that is the ZR1 a 1ZR or 3ZR. My convertible, I will have to check the shipping weight but that is not a fair comparison to the ZR1. What was the shipping weight of your coupe?

I'd have to look on the title, I'm pretty sure that Florida carries that info over to it.

It will be interesting to see what that is on the coupe, if you have it.

Forget shipping weight it must be curb weight.

Not too bad. I will weigh my 3ZR at BlackDog Racing with a full tank of fuel and see what it weighs as well.

What all do you get with the 3ZR package? I know with the 3LZ you get the heated and ventilated seats plus more leather compared to the 1LZ trim level.

And check your facts. The z06 is about 171# heavier than a zr1 according to gm's own numbers.

It really doesn't matter as far as the OP is concerned. He is basically interested in stop light gran prix's not even drag racing. He could add 200 lbs and not really notice a real difference in performance since there are too many other variables involved. One of those is driver skill level which is usually quite low among stop light gran prix participants.

You get the Nav unit, heated seats (Not ventilated). I believe you get both seats power as well (I have to check on that though as I do not recall if the 1ZR had a power seat).

Horsepower to weight yes any other measure NO!
Simple Halltech intake fixes the power to weight.
I really liked my Zr1 but back to back driving for 4 months.
Convinced me the Zr1 no longer was the king!
Sold and and like my new 2015 Z06 as the better driver and all around car! No question here!

Doc Bru, I'm guessing you're an audiophile? Curious to hear your insulation mods in excess of what is typically done.

I would also be very interested in what electronics you are looking at. Head unit integration seems to be a challenge. And good product is heavy, A JL 10W7 weighs 30lbs.

Many of us would appreciate if you do a thread on these mods. Thanks in advance and best of success.

Did this thread turn into bash the ZR1, if the great GM comes out with something better than the ZO6 will everyone bash it also. The reason the ZO6 is slower is because of OP putting a drag on the surface causing turbulence and friction in the flow of wind across the surface. I hope someone has this useless information.

Pretty comical coming from the one who brought the ZR1 into the thread. Are your feelings getting hurt because everybody doesn't worship your precious ZR1?
Maybe take your trolling act elsewhere.
