wow ... just got back from corvette school. learned a ton in the classroom, in the garage and on the track. already thinking about going to another class despite having to pay full price. All the instructors were incredible, all the students were a joy to be around. My next hpde event will be soo different.
For those that have an issue with money, I suggest finding people (I am not interested because I lack the patience) at places like SCCA, NASA, Extreme Speed and Speed Ventures. I have raced cars for many years and presently race a SCCA GT -2/ NASA ST-1 Corvette, and I meet very experienced people who can teach for free or a modest fee different ways of approaching the same task. Many would be happy to help you. I have heard good things about Spring Mountain, but (for the price) as is the case with Bondurant, once you have had the experience, the cost/benefit diminishes.
All drivers have their own techniques. I have raced everything from open wheel , prototypes, and Trans Am cars, and developed my own (some would say "bad") habits. However, I am happy presently holding the SCCA GT-2 record at Auto Club Speedway, Willow Springs, and Chuckwala. There is always more than one way to skin a cat. Best

They are great. The only thing that sucks is that they DO NOT offer the Z06 in Level 2. This is why I will not be going back until they do.
I still think that this is something that everyone should do. Maybe if some of these new ZO6 owners did this first there might be a few less youtube videos with these beasts being crashed.

Just several weeks ago I attempted to do the very same thing. Called to make a reservation for Level 2 class for early next year and asked to drive a C7-ZO6. Just last June I went for the level 1 class with a ZR1 since I had bought a new one a year ago. Was told I could not get there from here. Asked why and was given that it was probably due to insurance. Did not make sense to me, who does drive the ZO6's then? Just those who buy a new ZO6? I was kind of bummed out. Take level 1 in a ZR1 than level 2 in a Z51? Sure would rather it be in the ZO6 since I am going up a level. Not to mention to get a chance to experience the differences between the ZR1 and ZO6.

Going next week 13/14.... Is there anything to do socially near there without driving back to LV ?
Nothing. There is a legit Mexican Restaurant, and Irish Bar and a Subway. Not much to do there besides racing and selling Meth.
The Pahrump Winery has an excellent restaurant. And good wine of course. My wife and I often take a Saturday drive there from Henderson NV for the food, the nice drive and of course to enjoy our Z06 on the open road.

I second that.
Just got back from level 2. Was not able to drive a Z. Day one was like day 2 of level 1, and the second day which wad described as "extensive open lapping" was a joke. Was not able to get more than one clean lap in a row! There was only 2 sessions left after a late lunch and both were cut short when some Bozo spun out on turn one!
Got back to the classroom at 3 o'clock after the last shortened session to find out we were done for the day! Asked an instructor that since both sessions were cut short and that it was only 3 o'clock could we get another session and he looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language!
Definitely left the table feeling hungry.
Level 1 last year was a good value, level 2, not so much.
For that much money you could prep your car and do 2 track days which would be a far better experience.
What I liked the best....absolute best was learning throttle steer......I was impressed how well that could work....after I learned it in the classroom, I ended up using it frequently on the track.....great school!

Agree! Being shown and learning to use throttle steering was a major highlight of a valuable and fun level 2 course. This was a driving course - not just two days of open lapping...value accordingly.
