I hope this Youtube clip works. I can't seem to get this Youtube clip to embed. It claims the video "does not exist"

don't know anything about FIA rules & regulations, but was surprised to see it has less power than a standard C7 Z06
The result is a GT3 racer built to meet all FIA rules and regulations. Powering the Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R is a Chevrolet-based 6.2L V8 engine producing 600 horsepower, mated to an X-Trac 6-speed sequential gearbox with paddle-shift technology.

It will have between 550 and 600 spending on BoP......
ALMS Corvette has even less power....again restrictor.. think they breathe through 2 x 28 mm holes
Looks promising for the Callaway, they did same lap time on hockenheim as previous lap record in the old one
And that was just a shake down.
BUT all manufactors have new cars for 2016.... And the Mercedes also look wicked and besides the Corvette the best looking car .
Porsche... well Porsche look like Porsche no matter what
M6 BMW is also new car
Audi has e newer version og Ultra LMS R8
2016 seems to be promising, fingers crossed for a balanced BoP and NOT IMSA screw up like 2015 half season adjustments.
IF cars Q and have race pace within .3 seconds... there is no need to adjust.

Forgot one thing, Pratt & Miller was not first with a Corvette C7R :-)
.
Callaway made one street car and then raced in GT1 before FIA bought the rights to GT racing...

I visited Ernst at Callaway and he pulled out old pictures and we went down memory lane together.
impressive to see what Ernst and Reeves did together than long time ago...
On my Bucket list is to visit Reeves in the US and see the car collection and their business... and i dont golf.... so

I posted this vid, the morning it hit youtube, in the C7 general section...got about 3 comments. Kind of hard to build a track capable street car when your buyers are about wax and polish 1000x more than they are racing.
If you think about it, it's pretty impressive the Z06 is as good as it is, considering the general buyer pool.

Very cool vid.
Beast of a machine. Hopefully they'll have success with it in their track campaign.
