Default Help Deciphering

I was on the Chevy site and was building various optioned Z convertibles, and I really had a hard time distinguishing the difference between the 2LZ & 3LZ. I was not seeing where the starting price difference is. Maybe one of you can help me with that. Which is the best bang for the buck?

I was also wanting to know if GM fixed the previous generation's problem they had with the heads.

Do any of you drive your Zs daily, and could you tell me how they are as a DD? I don't ever plan on tracking or racing the car..

Thank you for you help,

Dale

Here is the Corvette build site, at the start when it gets to interiors it shows the price of each.

http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-z0...-your-own.html

The 3LZ has Napa leather the 2LZ has Mulan which is a composite of materials that looks like leather.
Also the 3LZ includes Navigation and PDR, you can add these to the 2LZ.
There is also some leather on the dash, slightly different door panels and suede on the windshield pillars and header.

IMO, the 2LZ and 3LZ upgrades are a waste of money.

I added the PDR to my 1LZ.

I would have liked the lumber seat adjustment, but not enough to spend the 2LZ upgrade $$.

I would never use the heated/cooled seats, the built in garage door opener (a clip on the visor style is fine), or the front parking camera.

The rest is just visual fluff, with different materials.

A Deltron $25 battery tender plugs right in to the rear compartment socket, GM sells the same thing for $100+, IIRC, for reference on price mark up.

Thank you sir,

Yes that is the Chevy build site I was looking on. It is hard to see how the 3LZ is worth that much more than the 2LZ. I was comparing the two and seems that the 3LZ just gives you the option to add certain things to it that you would not otherwise be able to add to the 2LZ...

I'm really trying to learn about them so that I can make an educated buying decision..

Merry Christmas,

Dale

I also had to just make this same decision. I went into 2000 status a week ago with a TPW on 1-11-15 through 1-16-15. I think the 2LZ is the sweet spot and for the money was a no brainier for me over the 1LZ. Either way I'm sure it will be nice.

Is it good as a DD... Hmmm I think I might qualify as the highest miler for time of ownership as we hit the 14000 mile mark at 4 months driving across the US and then back across Canada. The car is an excellent all around car which can achieve very decent gas mileage if it's power is respected. We have yet to have a warranty issue and this car right now looks better than the day I bought it. If you can afford the car and can utilize it as a DD, life is great!

Right On!

Seriously you can't really go wrong and with all the choices get what you want.

The 3LZ is very nice. Not necessary but the leather and quantity of it is different if you care about those things.

Cheers!

I have a 15 with the 2LZ and am very pleased with it. I just felt that the 3LZ was a little over the top for me. The heated and cooled seat is great especially on long trips. It all comes down to what is going to make YOU happy. Why don't you try going to a couple of Dealerships and check them out in person. Good Luck

Resale the 2lz is probably the best for recouping money

Although I'd bet the 3 would resell faster than a 2, but probably not for much more, just a guess.
