Default Daily Driver?

Considering a Z06 as a daily driver. Suspect I would need to invest in all season tires / wheels. Anyone drive one of these things year 'round? Our winters in St Louis aren't that bad ... yet.

I'd go with the automatic. Thanks for your experiences!

Aside from the fact that it is an impractical 2 seat sports car, it's daily driveability is fine. It rides hard but no harder that any number of performance coupes or sedans. The gearing on the Z06 (manual or automatic) is quite usable on the street.

The biggest issue that I would have with it as a daily driver is that sometimes I drive places where I don't really want the attention that a Z06 might bring......

If it meets your needs, go for it. I agree that you may want different tires.

Mine's a daily driver. It's comfortable and does fine on groceries, etc.. As far as the tires go, you'll just have to be aware of the temperature and not drive silly when it's cold. Also, you'll have to change the tires a lot sooner than you would on any other car so bear that cost in mind.

I've got another couple of cars in the house but I think I wouldn't struggle in owning the Z06 alone to be honest.

I daily mine here in AZ. Had lows down to 30, up to 65 since I've had it the last three weeks. Just have to be judicious with the throttle on cold tires. Other than that it's perfect and loves the colder temps!

Being originally from St.Louis, I would definitely advise all season tires for your winters. My OEM ZO6 tires do not like the cold and would not like the snow or ice.

I DD my Z07 into NYC 100 miles a day. 19k miles and counting. Get winter tires. Zero complaints. Life's too short to drive a commuter car.

Best,
Gene

What Gene and TripleBlack99 say -- have over 15,000 miles on mine and replaced my CTS-V as my daily driver. Why not enjoy every day with a fabulous fighter plane of a car? (I live in NY and RI, so work around the snow.)

My father DD's his just over 19k in 10 months. He switched to conti's for street tires and is going with a more aggressive race tire/wheel for track days
