Hey guys I have 2016 CTSV with about 3500 miles on it and just started noticing and shudder when on the highway. It then became apparent that this occurs when it goes in V4 mode and immediately goes away when it switches back to V8. Since there arent many V3's on the road yet and the Z06 shares the same motor I was wondering if this is an issue that anyone may have noticed here. I am going to take it in to the dealer on Monday but any info would be appreciated.

I had a 6.0 liter 2009 pontiac g8 with dod. It did the same thing. I didn't care for the behavior of dod. I sold the car after 18 months and 18k miles.
Mt 2014 Camaro SS had DOD. Horrible experience, I used the "Range" devise to eliminate the DOD. These corvettes use a torque tube that seems to eliminate the feel, while the tarnsmission is also located to the rear of the car. I am not sure where trans location is on CTSV.
Same old story, sold Camaro at 16 months and 18,000 miles.

My uncle's 2012 Silverado 5.3L has the A6 with DOD(AFM). Riding in the passenger seat, I never realized it had DOD. One day I was driving it and I noticed the dashboard was telling me the truck was going into V4 mode and then into V8 mode, etc. The truck had absolutely no changes that I could feel or hear between the two modes. Completely seamless transition.

I have a friend that has a 2010 GMC and I can ever tell when it goes into DOD. Wonder why the trucks work so well and there have been occasional complaints on the C7s and Camaros.
I have a 2015 C7 Z51 with a drivetrain shudder when going from V4 to V8. It happens in weather, eco, touring, sport and track modes, and is more pronounced at highway speeds when going up an incline. This seems to be a relatively common problem, but I've never heard about a solution. HELP!!!
My 15 Z06 gives a little shudder when changing over from one to the other. It is barely noticeable and is a "so what" kind of thing once you know the cause of the shudder. Not sure why people get carried away with such little things when they are actually beneficial if used properly. Once I felt happen as the engine changed modes I said OK. Didn't run to the dealer to waste their time and mine.

I just got back from a trip up the California coast running in ECO mode most of the time and probably 50% of the time the car was in V4 mode. When it switched back and forth between V4-V8 it was so smooth that I could NOT tell the difference except I noticed that in V4 mode gas mileage would improve about 4-6 MPG.
I have also seen V4 mode in Tour and Sport modes, but never in Track mode. At least for my car it seems that the V4 mode is engaged quite often in the ECO mode, but it is rare in the other modes.
I should also note that I now have over 5,000 miles on the car and it has performed very well in all aspects. Even the SS tires still look good.
One item that I did notice was when I was cruising along in ECO in the V4 mode that the downshift was not as fast as usual. The reason I noticed it was when a new Cadillac V-series got a jump of 2 cars on me before my trans got it's act together and I walked by the guy. Something to have checked when I take it in for an oil change in a couple of weeks.
