White letter tires-Yah or No way?

Even "real" race cars, with all their sponsor lettering try and maintain some degree of styling.
Take NASCAR Cup cars. When they go through inspection, there are holes(around 1/2-3/4" diameter) in the rocker panels for the laser beams to measure off the frame rails. After they pass inspection, a crew member covers the holes with a tape disc(to improve aero). You don't see them as they are the color of the car at that location, etc.

And...I just want to point out, if you talk about "style", then start the next sentence with Nascar....ummm.....no...sorry...lol. Just stop...haha. Not being rude but...negative.

That's also the finite examples of maintaining airflow management also. Bleeding air from underneath the chassis isn't desirable. I'm sure the guys on the team would argue function on that one.

They also color the lug nuts yellow, for pure functionality, and deliberately don't want them the color of the wheels.
Why don't those that run white lettered tires and/or paint their gas lid black, also paint their lug nuts yellow, if they are trying to emulate a "real" race car?

My point(which flew over your head) was that the tape discs are color matched to the color of the car at that particular location. For pure function, they could just cover the holes with black tape and disregard the "styling" aspects of color matching the discs to the surrounding area.

You don't have to like it, but a HUGE sector of enthusiast do like it and frankly, if you go to SEMA and see some of the LB cars in person and you DON'T think it's badass well...you just have vastly different tastes is all.
End of day, design and fashion moves forward. Many people flow with it until a certain age, at which point they simply decide what they like, from some era, and view new trends/fashion as "funny" or copying something from the past. It is what it is. I go to SEMA yearly to keep up with what happens in all genres. No i don't like it all, nor would I build it all, but I also will see small elements of of things in those other genres that when transferred can be something innovative for a certain car.

Always had My tires mounted Blackwall out back in the day.
White lettering=not for me.
If I wanted a late model stock car I'd buy one.

What was really interesting is about 15 years later they started making all tires with narrow white walls and you paid less if you had the tire installed with the black wall to the outside.
