It replaces the stock suspension control module which is inside the drivers front fender. Roughly right behind the side grill. Just pull back the rear of the drivers front wheel well liner and you can get to it.

this seems really easy. I'd say it's a 1 beer job.

Yes, the module is user configurable. Here's a pretty good youtube video on the tuning software.

So this quasi-confirms that the FE7 mapping could be sold by GM, as long as you swapped all the parts including tires.

What would be the point? The shocks that GM offers for the z07 would not perform as well as the ones that are made for the kit.

I don't think it would make a difference. If you have a problem related to the shocks, after you've modified the car, you probably will have warranty issues either way. I doubt GM could successfully deny a warranty claim that was unrelated to the suspension changes.

One reason would be cost. The DSC/Tractive DDA is top shelf stuff and not mass produced - on par with high end Moton or better. FE7 shocks, springs, controllers, bushings, etc are pretty inexpensive.

The DSC stuff is not prohibitively expensive, but OEM shocks are under $450 each.

I think cost would be a really big factor but in that case just installing the controller for the already installed z06 shocks seems to make the most sense. From what I read they have more travel and would work better.

Yes you can definitely get more performance out of your OEM shocks. It is very popular in the Porsche world to just order the DSC box and keep your OEM shocks. One caveat, the OEM Porsche shocks have a much greater dynamic range than the OEM Corvette shocks (FE6 or FE7).

These are selling for about $6,900 from Viper Exchange for Vipers, although that includes coil springs. The Corvette versions maintain the OEM leaf springs, so expect it to be a bit cheaper than that.

Keep in mind, Moton dampers for a Z06 sell for $5,400 from Katech (without springs) - and those are fully passive 'standard' shocks.

This thread contains a lot of great information about the shocks.

Great info. It's crazy how far suspensions have come since my c3. I had a, mostly, guldstrand suspension with Bilstein shocks on a 1970 454 and thought that was the best setup ever. I had to put the Bilsteins on because it rode so rough without them it was painful for any length of time.

This is VERY cool stuff. I can't wait to see how it performs on summer tires on street and with r-comps on track.

Hey Poor-sha,

great write up - thank you for that!

Looked up the system at DSCs page but couldn't find neither information about the suspension (there is only a "coming soon" tag) nor the asked price.

So how much are they?

Thanks

Lars
