Default Jake

Finally got around to installing a Jake decal on my stinger. Also extended the stinger stripe all the way to the back, and blacked out the various red and orange lenses

Me Likey

Did you continue the stripe down the rear?
Where'd you get the Jake?

Thanks! Got everything from mike at vettestripes. His info is here on the forum somewhere. He even did the custom roof thing with our name, and sent me proofs to make sure I liked it before completing the custom order.

No I did not carry down the tail. I terminated at the front edge of the stage 2 rear spoiler.

My stinger is carbon flash from the factory, so we did the Jake in flat black for a subtle contrast; and the extensions in carbon flash to match the original stinger stripe. Oh and for our name, it arrived precut, out of the carbon flash, so the actual blade silver roof is what you see as the letters showing through the black.

I really like the design philosophy you have chosen.

The Jake logo and the roof writing aren't to my taste, but the idea of a 'stinger' roofline and rear decklid along with the black mirrors work very well to create a cohesive design.

You have done well.

While I do appreciate graphics and stripes, I am not digging the Jake on the stinger. I think it would look better without the Jake and RILEY, I believe if anything, CORVETTE may have looked much better in the Corvette lettering. Maybe even ZO6.

Still a sweet looking Z!!!

All things will not appeal to all folks. I applaud your individuality, and willingness to set your Corvette apart from the rest. IMHO like it, very much.

Thanks. Yeah I know to each their own. my other (older) vettes are "all original" and this one is more for fun so figured wth, put my crazy touch on it. It can always be undone if I change my mind.

All a personal statement, but blacking out DOT lighting and reflectors never made sense to me. It's bad enough driving out there, I'm not doing anything that hurts my odds any further of being hit by some nut that doesn't see me. I mean side-markers are 1967 technology. Take a look at a 1967 pickup truck and enumerate the safety features - there are like 3. And you've removed one of them. And now some stranger on the Internet is hassling you!

If not for the laws that cover it, to each their own.
