So since I couldn't drive it, I decided to mod it. Here are some pics of the mods I have done this winter. I have done all the work myself except for the actual Hydro-dipping.
The car 2016 Z06, 3LZ, A8, Torch Red with black interior/red stitching. Viin #254. I took delivery on 7/16/16 at the National Corvette Museum. It was the first '16 Z06 delivered by the NCM. I have also installed an AFE CAI.

I thought every mod looked great!!
Something about modding yourself that makes the mods even better!!
Edit: was the Jake skull hard to put on??
Thanks, I appreciate your comments.
Jake was painted on by a local hot rod shop that does excellent "ghost" images. Depending on the viewing angle and the light he can almost completely disappear. He used gold pearl paint and clear coated over that.

Ahh, got ya! It looked good. I had never seen that before. That's why I asked. Best of luck with the car!
Just thought I'd add this. My car is not a garage or trailer queen. I drive it every chance I get. It's a little over 6 months old and has 6200 miles on it. I have had it in several car shows and it has won "Best Corvette" & "Best 2000 & Up". At most car shows I can't get away from the car to even get something to eat there are so many people that want to talk to me about it including other Corvette owners. The compliments are the reward I get for countless hours of cleaning & polishing but the ones that mean the most are the ones from you guys on this forum. You all know how amazing the Z06 is and your positive remarks mean a lot to me. Thanks.
Did you install the spats yourself? I bought some off the ebay and didnt come with instructions. I am doing a serch and your post came up.
Does anyone have a link or something to help me out?
Many thanks fellow Z06 fans.
The spats are pretty easy. There is a screw at both ends and double stick tape about 12 inches in the middle. Once you have the screws out use a large flat bladed screw driver to pry up the spat. Use constant pressure and the tape will give up. Clean all the tape off and reapply. I painted mine carbon flash black after sanding them smooth and priming them. Then I cleared them and put Suntek film on them. Good luck.

Thanks. I looked at the stock spat and it has several 3 or more screws to take off on the lead end. I have a 2016 stage 2 set up. I guess ill just get over it and check it out. I think the hair dryer idea cant hurt to loosen the tape too!
Well, the first replacement took about 45-60 mins since I like to work slow to make sure I don't error. The second was easier. Had the car on the ground, that made it tough. No need to take off the wheels, just turn them away. Plus I was in my tight garage and the lighting was not great. Used a flash light a lot and took time away, LOL.
I used the hairdryer to loosen the double sided tape (didn't use screwdriver to peel off) and to remove the remaining tape with my fingers from the underside fenders.
Take your time pulling the OEM spat off, it will come. I focused on looking at the new Spat as a source of placement since I was concerned to get the new tape caught without proper placement on the fender once I peeled off the tape cover strip.
Anyway, It came out great. Now going to sell the OEM set!!

Thanks for Corvette Forum and helpers!!!
Sorry I haven't been able to get back to you. I spent springbreak in Cabo and just returned. Sounds like you got great advice and got the job done. What are you replacing the OEM's with? Please post a pic when you are done.
