Default Question on Cup 2's....one worn, one new

Greetings

My car is at the dealership for service. There is a screw in the left rear that I asked them to plug. The tires have 6,900 miles on the but still have some tread and I can still see the wear markers. Admittedly they're getting pretty close.

My service guy requested a courtesy replacement from GM due to the wear but they only agreed to the one, surprisingly.

Does anyone have thoughts on the disparity of the tread?

I plan on taking it to the drag strip on Friday and don't want to have any issues out there.

At 6,900 miles on Cup2s, I would just spring for a single new replacement to go along with the GM replacement.

Very good point. I should have mentioned I'm replacing the Cup 2's with the Super Sports on the next set. That's my only reservation on getting a matching rear.

Ask them to sub super sport, cost them less.

Great suggestions. The dealer confirmed GM will only cover the OEM Cup 2. I'm going to let them do it...why not?

Skip the drag strip on Friday or go for it with a good burnout?

It's a yay or nay question.

Seeing all these videos of peeps spinning out......and the tread disparity....

Nay.

Buy three new Cup 2's. Get them balanced and your good to go. Nothing like a new set of shoes.....
