I did But you're right, it's incredible how good they are. Small mistakes add up and they can utterly capitalize on them to keep up. It's very impressive.
catch cans. oil blow by on these DI engines is a real issue.
Not really. GM has several hundred thousand DI Engines (maybe a million) on the road and it isn't a big issue. Look at the issues with the GM DI Engines and the big one is the V6 timing chain which goes back almost 8 years. Oil ingestion isn't even a glimmer. When I purchased my C7 I added the second DI engine to my stable. The first was my GMC Terrain.
If it is an M7 learn how to shift the transmission properly and you will not need an MGW. Transmission shifts easily and quickly if you use the palm of your hand and finger tips on top of the shifter to move the shifter. Do not grab it like a pistol grip or you will miss shifts. No need for shorter shift throw or fancy centering springs in the shifter.

that's your experience and i respect that. but i have a 15 silverado and have the elite engineering dual catch cans (same as i had on my ZR1) and i empty them every month. dirty side is about 1/2 full and clean side has about 1/8th inch of oil.

Disagree. The MGW is much better in every way over the stock shifter. Try it out and you will see. Its like having a "Stick in the Mud" vs a "Bolt Action Riffle" feel.

I have owned manual transmission sports cars, many vettes, my whole life and I know how to shift properly! If you have not tried an MGW shifter I don't think you have any room to comment on one. I know its just your opinion but to make a general statement that people that have a short throw shifter do not know how to shift is just silly!
