The 'aero' level seems to be the biggest difference in roll racing. As for 1/4mi trap speeds, go look at the 'fast list.' If you're drag racing a lot, then hands down the A8 is easier and more consistent, and probably for roll racing too. M7 is a lot more fun to drive though...depends on what purpose you are looking for.

M7 a8
I had a 15 Z06 M7 and I now have a 16 Z06 A8. My 16 regularly goes 3-4 more mph in the 1/8th and 5-7 more mph in the 1/4 than my 15 did. I also upgraded my rear S1 spoiler to S3 and that change alone took 2 mph in the 1/8th out of it and 4 mph in the 1/4. I then took the tinted center section out and got approximately half of those mph's back. It really does make that much difference.

I never new the m7 was that much slower or it depends on how u drive the stick idk
But I'm just worried in the Future the a8 might give me problems also if he m7 can deliver pretty much same power

I love my A8 Lightning fast shifts. You can't go wrong either way. I have seen new A8s available for $2700 so even if it blows up after warranty you can get a new one relatively cheap, but I don't think that is happening.

Driver makes a huge difference in A8 vs M7.
Takes no skills with the A8. Then it is all skill to get the fastest time out
of the M7. A8 holds the 0-60 with LESS rwhp due to the gearing.
The A8 has a 10.99 over all 1st gear vs the 7.83 first of the M7.
This means it gets 12 engine turns to 1 of the differential vs less than 8 of the M7
to get going in 1st
HUGE ADVANTAGE
Once rolling 50-60 mph and above the M7 with a skilled driver takes all hi-way rolldown contests plus takes the heat better.

As far as driving Ive been drag racing for 37 years and have had many manual trans cars before. And yes, a more experienced driver will make a huge difference, but yes, the A8 is much faster primarily due to the software in the tune protecting the clutch and pulling timing and throttle back. It's a 650 hp car that lets you use approx 450 hp. Yes, it can be tuned out, but there goes the warranty.
The gearing and shift speed in the A8 just makes the car quicker.
And yes, they have the same SAE rated power, but the trap speeds don't lie.
This has been beaten to death here, but you asked for opinions, I simply shared mine.
Best wishes on your decision.
BTW considering what it costs to replace the clutch in the M7 cars either way I don't see the A8 being a bigger liability in the long run.

I upgraded the spoiler on my current 16 A8. My 15 Z06 was the M7 and it was a Z07 car so it already had the S3 aero.
