Just got my entry confirmed for the Nevada Open Road Challenge this May. Safety requirements for the 125 MPH class meant I needed to change the sport seats to Competition seats so that the shoulder belt angle was correct and the belts did not get pinched together as they do by the stock seat. Thanks to the good people at Suburban Chevrolet (Trunk Monkey) the seats will now pass tech and I am a happy man! Hope to see some of you in May and/or September. This run is a real kick!
Since the foam is roughly 20% denser than the base GT seats, it gives a great advantage only converting the seat-backs and not the bottoms to keep the comfort aspect while ensuring resiliency!!
Would be interesting to see the whole seat in picture.
Also, do the comp seats push in more (from the sides) than the GT seats? I am a very big guy, and could stand any more pressure in the bolster arae.
Yes they are definitely tighter in the seat back bolster and in the seat cushion sides. If you have a larger frame I'd stick with the GT seat. The seat cushion is the same dimensions but the firmer foam changes the feel quite a bit. You sit more on top of the seat vs sinking in. I'd like a seat with the GT back, comp seat bottom foam, and the GT seat bottom side bolsters.
