Insulation mod
Michelin SS non runflat and got some noise relief but not real major like on the C6 ZR1 and Z06.
So I looked under the rear carpet and found empty under the carpet.
The insulation that was there was on the sides nothing in the middle. Nothing but the carpet so I used some 3/4 inch thick car insulation. Actually from my 2006 Z06 left over they had a factory insulation pack you could order.
The 2006 car came with 2 bags from the original owner.
I put a put a large square about 30 inches by 36 inches under the carpet cut to fit in the missing area.
Wow! After a few hundred miles. Was I'm happy to report it is noticeably less noisy from the tires in the interior. Music sounds better too!
Well worth the small effort!
Now I think I will go back and some more around the battery area.
My solution was to buy a convertible, you can't hear any of that stuff!
