I just noticed what appears to be a crack inside the windsheild at the very top on the drivers side. I have a 2015 Z06 coupe. It is on the black portion of the windshield just below, almost touching, the roof. I do not believe a rock hit the windsheild particulary as there is no damage on the exterior of the windsheild. I almost never remove the top. Has anyone had a similar issue. The top of the interior trim blocks being able to view it on the inside of the car. It almost looks like a stress crack.
could it be just a scratch? If you are super ****, and intend to change the window if it is a crack press on it to see if it spiders out. If its a crack, it will get WAY WAY WAY worse, very quickly. If it doesn't bother you, just leave it alone and don't touch it. If it is inside, I would go to the dealer and show them, they may warranty it. I have no idea.
Thank you. Any idea what could have caused it. I hope the dealer will address it and not claim a rock hit the windsheild. I have examined it closely and cannot find a spot that was hit.
There was one going around here months ago with a crack up about where the seam on the coupe top weatherstripping is, but it looked like an impact did it and the guy disappeared after that was pointed out... so I don't know if there's any kind of pattern, really.
Either it is a warranty issue or an insurance issue. Your comprehensive insurance will cover a windshield replacement. They don't hit you for a rate increase or charge you with an accident if you use it. It is just comprehensive insurance. Hopefully, you have a zero or low deductible on your comp.

Thank you all for the reply's. I took the car to the dealer today and 3 people examined it. None of them could detect anything that might have hit the windsheild so by default they concluded it was a stress crack and they are replacing the windsheild. For those interested the crack appears as a white semicircle on the top of the windsheild on the drivers side in the area that is black, just prior to the roof line. You cannot see it from inside the car.
