So took off at lunch to go look at a 2015 3 LZ Z06. 335 miles for 82K Got all the way to the dealer in my 07 Z 06 and kept on driving. Not sure if its my dislike for used car salesmen or I just like my old Z too much. Maybe I need to drive a new one to settle my fears.

That's jiggy and all, but shouldn't it be in the C6 forum? Given that you didn't even stop to look at the C7Z, I have no idea what relevance it is to us that you drove by a place that sells them but didn't stop.
I drove by a Quiznos today, but I'm not on the Subway forums talking about it. :-)
Why wouldn't you have least stopped in to check it out? It doesn't sound like a bad deal and you could probably get a little more knocked off. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have been disappointed if you drove it.

Should've stopped by and drove home with the new Z. I had a 06 Z with heads, cam, longtubes,... and my 16 Z is so much better in every way. Just go back tomorrow to make a deal.
The C7 Z06 is a more refined car. The C6 z06 is more raw and unrefined.
The lightweight feel of the C6 z06 was evident on my drive yesterday.
Mine has 501 rwhp and really is fast.
Nothing wrong with you I still have mine and could have sold it by now.
But since my C7 z06 is in the shop for another week it is nice to have the old Z06.

Oh ****!
No love at all for a guy that stepped into another room!
I hope your standing guard at the restrooms, we could actually
use a little guard duty there these days.
Hey man, I applaud you taking your time and thinking things thru. Nothing wrong with you at all. When your ready, your ready! Both cars are AWESOME! I miss the good times in my C6Z. Good luck on your decision!

If the play money is 'burnin' a hole in your pocket' waiting to be spent on a new car, enjoy testing your top picks. If not, you might have the same problem as me, too many wants and not enough greenbacks...had this problem for over 40 years...
Nothing wrong with you......my guess, you will be buying a new Z06 before the summer is out. You have "the fever" and it doesn't go away. You love your current Z06, but 'something' has you thinking about the new one, and once that happens it is all over---just a matter of time. Most of us have been there (more than once).
I had a 2008 Z06 (Atomic Orange), and I LOVED that car. Traded it for a 2103 427 because I always said if the Z06 came in a convertible I would get one (yes, purist, I know the 427 wasn't exactly a Z06, but it was close enough for 99% of us). I thoroughly enjoyed the 427, but the 08 Z06 was always on my mind.
08 Z06 compared to my 2015 Z06 is a tough one. Both great cars. Bottom line, I would take the C7 Z06 every day. Why? I got the coupe with the removable roof......and I just got a glass roof for it last week---I like being able to take the roof off, etc. when the mood hits me. The seats are FAR superior. In your car you hold onto the steering wheel for dear life when doing some spirited driving with any turns involved--you hold onto the steering wheel in an attempt to stay in place-----with the C7 the seats hold you in place. Huge difference.
I drank the cool aid when I heard about the 650 horse power and torque (this was the biggest thing that sold me). Is there a very noticeable difference in performance for spirited street driving between the C6 Z and the C7 Z------I am not that experienced of a driver to say, but I would still have traded my 2008 for the 2015. This will be my last corvette---I will let my children and grandchildren worry about trading it in----quick side story----my 5 year old grandson was always the designated heir to the orange Z06 as he loved it since before he could crawl, but with the yellow 427 and red C7 Z06, he has lost his over the top interest and will periodically ask me if I will ever get the 'cool orange car back again.'
Either way you have a great car no matter what you finally decide.
PS to my reply above.............you live in Norton, I am in Needham.......we are close enough that if you ever want to meet up with the cars we can do that, and you are more then welcome to give my car a run................of course, I would also want to try the C6 Z again as well so I can see how they compare...........
Other than today, rain seems to be forecast almost everyday for the next week. I will be leaving the house around 9:30 to go to a club car wash on 109 in Millis, and will be there until around 11:30---I could meet you somewhere around noon today in that general area. I am also free this afternoon (cleaning the garage and making dump runs) if you want to come to Needham.
Drop me a PM if interested and I will check the PM's before I head out this morning.

Fantastic solution...WIN - WIN for the Corvette family...way to go, Jim!

Yes you do! The new C7 is leaps and bounds an improvement in the way GM did these cars in the past. Performance and especially in the interior--biggest upgrade no more crap seats.

I take that as being wise. You let your conscience be your guide. You will rethink again and possibly dive in. Might not be this car. I have a buddy at work that I saw test driving a new truck a few weeks ago. He didn't buy it for simple reasons... salesman... money.
Yesterday I saw a new truck in our lot.. he later went to another dealer after regrouping and made a great deal on the truck he wanted.
mike,
I'm with jim, nothing wrong w/you. i live in pembroke ma not too far away.PM me and i would be happy to meet up and let you check out the c7 for a closer look without having to buy. i traded my 08 atomic orange z for the 15 so i can relate. it took me some time to pull the trigger. happy i did but the 07z is still a great car to be "stuck with". LOL. nice to have local guys with similar interests. I'm heading to new Hampshire motor speedway next weekend for an HPDE with comscc. can't wait to get this monster on a track.

If you drive one, it's over. I'll warn you of that much.
Sounds like you are not ready to spend $82k to me. Can't say I blame you. If I owned a C6Z, I probably would not be in a hurry to upgrade either. Wait a few years when they depreciate to bargain prices. In the meantime, enjoy your Z.
