Default Side Skirts

OEM or aftermarket side skirts better for protection? If aftermarket is better which vendor provides the best side skirts for protection?

Many brands, styles, and finishes are available. I personally have the Z06 ACS skirts. So far so good

Thanks for the input. I've read most of threads but few have talked about protection. I'm curious if there is one brand that offers more protection from road rash than the others and particularly why...

Both skirts offer equal protection. After market, in many cases, are better quality for a lower price. For protection, I went with the oem guards, side skirts and then XPel.

The ACS skirts extend further under the car than some types (including the OEM) so the full painted part of the rocker is covered by them. It doesn't show from the top but when you hear stuff hitting it is nice to know that it is hitting the skirt mounting area and not the Z06 body part.

I've got the ACS side skirts and mud guards on mine. Great quality and fit at a reasonable price.

Default Protection?

I went with the factory skirts then added the Apsis splash guards front and rear. This car's tires are so sticky that... well, we all know the issues.

I also had the Xpel Ultimate installed as part of the delivery process.

From what I can tell, some of the aftermarket parts are composite and lighter weight than the factory skirts. I can't see where that would make a difference on their ability to protect the car but it may mean they're not as durable.

I have a brand new in the box set of skirts and front splitter painted Carbon Flash for sale. Factory GM parts still wrapped in bubble wrap and plastic. They are original GM (CFV optioned stage 2) parts. I was going to post them in the FS section later today. Retail from GM is $5k new, forum pricing is about $3,700. These are available for $2,250 shipped.
