Default Direct replacement Hats & Steel Rotors for C7ZO7 CCM Brakes

If you have been tracking your car and have experienced issues with the CCM pads and rotors NOW we have Direct replacement Hats & Steel Rotors for C7ZO7 CCM's

GIRODISC FRONT 2PC ROTORS FOR C7 Z07 WITH OEM CCM ROTORS
The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc however a different brake pad with an annulus (pad swept area) of 66mm or less must be used. This is done to keep the rotor weight at a reasonable level. If we manufactured a rotor with the same annulus as the OEM CCM rotors they would be far too heavy. The necessary pad shape is the same that is found in the standard Z06 brakes that came with the iron rotors from the factory.
The central hat section of our rotor is made from strictly U.S. sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from our own proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined from start to finish in house at Girodisc. The rotor utilizes a curved vane design, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 8 or 10 high strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to our own specifications and cadmium plated for a long lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by grade 12 cap screws with hardened washers. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the pads.
Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed.
Sold/priced per pair

GIRODISC REAR 2PC ROTORS FOR C7 Z07 WITH OEM CCM ROTORS
The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc, no modifications are necessary. The disc will bolt directly to the car and work with OE calipers and parking brake without issue.

Default Available pads and actual weight?

What pads (track in particular) are available for this setup?
and
How much do the front and rear rotor assemblies actually weigh?

Thanks in advance...

The front rotors are approximately 23 lbs rear are a little less
The pads we use mainly are a Brembo Race pad which is the same pad compound we run on all our C6ZO6 cars. We also have Hawk compounds available

Once the C7 Z07 Girodisc rotors are installed how much do the replacement rotor rings cost? How often does the fastening hardware have to be changed when changing rings and how much does it cost? Are we talking about total replacement costs per ring like we see with other iron 2 piece rotor rings that are in the $250 to $350 range?

If you are tracking your car we recommend changing the hat hardware everytime you change the rotor ring just from a safety standard. The rotor and hat have a floating mount system utilizing 10 pins that are secured by grade 12 cap screws with hardened washers. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the pads. To make sure everything is operating the way it should is the reason we recommend changing everytime. But the choice is yours. The hat hardware per rotor is $90.00. Yes the replacement rotor rings are in the $350.00 range

My Girodiscs weighed:

28.9lbs front
24.2lbs rear

Maybe my scale isn't the best but unless I see a photo of the rotor being weighed I'm going with my measurements.

I am having some irregular wear on the front CCM rotors mainly. The inside of the rotor next to the hub has a high spot. GM says this is normal wear and tear..B.S...
Would it be reasonable to just change out the front CCMS to steel and leave the CCM S IN THE REAR?

My CCMs wore the same way. It didn't seem to affect performance, unless maybe it generated heat doing it.

The Girodisc setup has a much different bite than CCM. I wouldn't mix and match

Did you ever find a better pad than the raybestos? I have 13 weekends on mine now and they're only half way worn. Lol

The ST43s are now perfect for track day use. They used to have too much bite but either I adjusted or they lost a bit of bite like you said making them ideal in pedal feel.

3 dry track days, one wet, and one auto x. The pads have 50% life left. I'm guessing 2 to 3 more dry track days left. No way I'll get that much life out of them!

I should buy a replacement set soon. Taking them off today to put the SS for street duty in and will check for more accurate wear.
