Default C7 ABS bleed procedure

Anyone have a 2014 or 2015 GM C7 service manual that can look up the ABS bleed procedure. I have a 2016 C7 service manual on order but it's not available until the end of May.
I am assuming it is the same as the C6 ABS bleed procedure but need to verify.
Thanks

Should be like any other abs. Attach bleeder to main reservoir. Bleed in the following order: RR, LR, RF, LF

Spearfish25 is correct on the order.
If you need to do an automated bleed procedure after the manual procedure you will need a scan tool. A Tech 2 will not work on the C7's.

Actually that's not the correct order at all!!!!

Butt...that's the order that I bleed in.

The actual order in the Service Manual is on diagonals, but that really only matters if you're bleeding with a Tech 2 - or what ever you need on the C7.

The normal bleed will not bleed the ABS circuits. You can't open the ABS circuits without a Tech 2 (or newer version) that will open the ABS valves and activate the ABS pump.

Or can you?!?!

You can always do the redneck procedure!! Take a look at this StopTech procedure in the White Paper tech bulletin below:

http://www.stoptech.com/technical-su...-brake-systems

In there you can read about the dealership procedure, and you can also see the other procedure that Billy-Bob uses after he bleeds the main system:
"go driving and slam on the brakes a few times to make the ABS work" to purge the used fluid from the unit.

But then you need to come back to your shop and bleed the system again to clean out the old fluid that flushed out of the ABS circuits into the main system.

Thanks for posting that up from a C7 Service Manual. I have a 2016 and haven't gotten a C7 SM yet - the 2016 will be out the end of this month.

I'm glad to hear that they have changed the brake bleed order. For the last several generations it has been on a diagonal - Right Rear, Left Front, Left Rear, Right Front. All my C5 and C6 Service Manuals have said to bleed in that order.

I've always done the RR, LR, RF, LF on my Vettes because I never had a Tech 2, and I think that's why the SM procedure was like that - I imagine the Tech 2 procedure did it in that order.

However, the C7 apparently is just the same as earlier generations as far as the ABS bleeding procedure - it can't be done in the shop unless you have a Tech 2, or what ever that tool has been replaced with. After doing some research, forum member Theta has a post that answered the question:
What scan tools will let you do an ABS automated bleed?
His answer was:
GM MDI or J2534 + GDS2 platform or quick-subscription.

The Innova 3160 may work, but remember that the C7 began the Global Platform Initiative which phased out the Tech2 and those basic commands. Therefore, other tools based on this may not function properly for the C7.

And here's an excerpt from what looks like the same online "Service Information" that you put up - it's a page discussing the automated procedure using the Chevy

Bottom line - you are not going to open the valves to the ABS circuits and operate the ABS pump in your shop to flush the ABS system without a tool similar to what the Chevy dealership uses.

A Mongoose Pro 2 from Drewtech is 495 and it will do it. I just got finished doing an abs bleed on my z06 tonight. I'll test drive it tomorrow. You almost need 3 people to do it. That or one that can use a laptop and mash the brake pedal at the same time. I looked all over the forum and it doesn't seem like a lot of people do this at home.

I was lucky when I installed my AP Brakes. It took so long to get the left front hose connected to the car hard line I didn't realize I had drained the reservoir while I was under the car. After bleeding 3 or 4 times there was still air in the ABS modulator module so I took the car for a drive where the road was dirty and slammed the brakes on several times to get the ABS to activate. Then I rebled the system and the air was gone. First time that has ever worked for me. Tried it on a couple of other Vettes and couldn't get the air out.

I did the automated procedure yesterday afternoon and didn't get a chance to drive it until today. The pedal was firmer and had very little play in it. There was a little more play in it than I liked before I bled it and the only thing I could figure is there might be air in the abs system. The odd thing is that I've driven it 5 track days and had absolutely no brake fade. I guess when I bled the system before the first track day I managed to get air in the abs circuit. I noticed that the master cylinder was low but I was hoping that it hadn't gotten air in the system. Evidently I did get air in it or doing the abs bleed just gives a firmer higher pedal. Either way problem solved.
