Is the rear spoiler/wing on the Z07 an eye sore?
I know it's there for drag, but to me it just kills the beautiful lines on the car! It's way too tall and seems out of place, it makes the car look awkward. The smaller spoiler seems to flow much better IMO.
I know it won't happen till perhaps the C8 but I wished it had an automated wing on the back.

I kind of go back and forth on which I prefer. Mine is a stage 2 car. I put the lower stage 1 rear spoiler on the car recently to run an event, and I've left it on. Enjoying the more subtle look. Still have the stage 2 pieces, so if the mood strikes I can always put those back on.

Opposite...don't like the Stage 1 at all and think that the rear fins, wickerbill, and even Stage 3 splitter caps set this car just right.

I took off the wickerbill. It is too hard to see through. If it has dirt on it or the sun hits it just right it basically blocks the view to the rear. The Stage 2 sides don't limit the rear view mirror vision so I haven't removed them but just removing the wicker bill improved highway gas mileage so I am wondering it removing the Stage 2 spoilers will improve it some more.

I went from None, too Stage 3, and now Stage One. I need low lift over height, way more than Bad ***.

When the ZO6 was being introduced at Carlisle the engineers said they wanted to do more with the rear but they didn't have enough money in the budget. This is why they came up with the wicker bill design and it appears the majority of buyers like the NASCAR look.

I have a Z07 and think the Stage 3 aero looks wicked!!
However, for high speed events I would like less drag for higher top speed - events like the Daytona Rolex 24 roadcourse, mile events, I don't drag race but that would probably be better with less drag.
If I'm doing a long road trip I also don't need a lot of downforce/drag.
And, I like changing up the look of car every once in a while, and like Bill says you can see out the inside rear view mirror better with the center wickerbill removed!
So...I got the Stage 1 spoiler extensions. Here's a thread with some info about my swap of them. Note that I did Museum Delivery, and when they PDI the car and install the spoiler extensions they DO NOT remove the red plastic backing on the sticky tape - so the extensions are not "stuck" on the spoiler, and that's the way I installed my Stage 1 extensions so I can easily swap back-n-forth when I want more downforce for a twisty track or less drag for high speed or looks:

You can see in there that if you want the smaller Stage 1 extensions they are GM part# 23259518.
If you want to go the other way and add Stage 2/3 extensions to your Stage 1 car, the Stage 2/3 extensions are GM part# 23256573.
Here's a link to forum vendor Trunk Monkey's site (Suburban Chevy), and you can go either way (they're the same price) for a little more than $150 shipped. The link will take you to the Stage 2/3 extensions, but put in the other part# if you want the Stage 1 ones:

That dirty thing cost me my first speeding ticket in a decade.
Now that it's gone it's far easier to see out the rear and I think it looks much better/cleaner.

Eye sore? Not at all... Car looks great with either a Stage 1, 2, or 3. I went from a Stage 1 to a Stage 2, which I prefer.

The various Z06 wings/spoilers are all pretty subdued when compared with what some other manufacturers are doing. The largest of the Z06 wings is hardly an eye sore, this is an eye sore:

I just wish it looked more integrated than just tacked on.

While I like the Z06 spoiler(s) as previously mentioned, they would definitely be better looking if they were more integrated.
The ease, and cost, of added three levels of aerodynamics to a single base/platform was probably the driving force behind GM's decision, but sacrifices a fluent transition from the rear deck, and yes, looks tacked on.

How dare you call that monster thing on the back an eye sore.
You car hater you.
Gets lots of looks when cruising with my Jeff Gordon helmet and suit on and Danika Patrick underwear.
Plus it doubles as extra shelves in the garage in the winter
You call yourself a car guy!
