Sounds like total speculation to a routine trademark re-filing. Combined with the articles speculation that the C7 might be " the last front-engined Corvette because the C8 generation is thought to be switching to a mid-engined layout." Again, speculation as that may arrive sooner than the C8.

Well, obviously we all need more than 650 HP/TQ
How could they really make a faster road track Corvette? Naturally aspirated LS7?
Seems like a waste of time, frankly.

While the c7 platform doesn't need more horsepower, it will probably get it to one-up the hellcat.
"And" they might address cooling issues, and it will have the 10speed auto. "and" the Zr1 will have a special no orange peel paint upgrade. " And" maybe (fingers crossed) they will clean up the back end and put "retro" round tail lights back on the car to get buyers that are on the fence, to get those potential buyers to release a few moths out of their wallets .
A differentiator from theC7 base, GS and Z06 platforms. Then buyers will have 4 platforms trim levels to choose from.
GM is really smart.
And the forum managers will have to put up a C7Zr1 forum.
A dealer installed HellCat motor upgrade option might make it a faster road track corvette
