Default Z28 vs Z06 - some track day fun! Sebring

Had a good time with trackguys and all the mustangs, a couple of camaros and a few Vettes.

Here is some video and sounds of the awesome beast called the Z06 before I got pegged with limp mode. Nonetheless, I had a great time!

Outside temps were mid to upper 90's. Both cars are stock. Im running on MPSS and Z28 on Trofeo R's.

I had passengers with ne all day long as they all wanted to feel the power of the Z06...and they all were going to a Chevy dealership after the weekend to put an order in, LOL!

Hope you enjoy!

I wish the PDR would add the ability to embed the rear-view camera like you have simulated. (With a GoPro?)

Great video...thanx for sharing.

A little surprising how quick the Camaro is by comparison.
Seems to excel under braking.

I doubt that. The time interval is constant (and growing) but the speeds in the braking zones are lower so it only appears that the Z28 is closing the gap.
It's not. He passed the Z28 before T1 and by Bishop the Z06 was gone.

Thanx for clearing that up.

I feel jealous of all you guys in Florida having access to great tracks.
An embarrassment of riches indeed.

Oh yeah, it's great except when it's like 100* and track surface temps are 140-150*.

It looks like the Z28 caught up and then flew by at 9:17.

You mean when he let off the throttle and was coasting around the track?
Yes, it did.

He pulled over to let him pass at that particular point, but the Z28 did catch up while he was still running hard.

My avg time around Sebring is 2:25 with my fastest being 2:23 - not to mention that some people are doing 2:18 -2:20's (snorman) on PSC2's. If you noticed - the fastest we went around the track was 2:30 and that was when I was in front and when the mustang slowed us down alittle going into turn 17 as passing is not allowed at turn 17 with trackguys. I was taking it easy as I wanted to get some good video and have some fun. Dont get me wrong - the Z/28 is a terrific car! The Z06 is a completely different and better car. Its lighter, lower and faster in all aspects.

He's going 89 mph before the bridge. And in 5th gear. I'll leave it to you to tell us how fast he should be going on a normal lap.
OP also said he was "taking it easy". The Z06 is much faster than the Z28 in the video. Period. It's not even a discussion.

Totally agree! I considered the Z28 as a track car as I didn't want to keep tracking my C6Z Zo7. I know its made for it but?? But after coming across many of them at different tracks here in Florida and VIR I was surprised it wasn't more of competitor to the C6Z. Cool car, lots of goodies on it (CCB) but it's heavy and cant keep up w/ a C6Z. There is a BIG difference. There is nothing to debate they are in different classes. I stayed with the Zo7 for the track.
