Default Wife's back problem gone.

My wife developed a bad back not long ago. So we flew from California to Ohio to pick up a new 2016 Z. We drove it back to California and put 3500 miles on the car. My wife noted periodically how comfortable the seat was and how much she was enjoying the ride. So, now we're back home and her back problem is gone. Perhaps a coincidence, but we're both glad things have improved. The healing power of a Z06?

That's funny, my wife has back problems and commented how good her back feels when riding in the corvette. So I guess the corvette engineers may have designed the seats better then we thought with all the complaining about them. I really like the seats myself and look forward to driving on long trips.

Mine are GT seats

You sir are lucky... Imagine if she didn't have a back pain and she developed it during the trip... You'll be saying hello to a Malibu in the garage instead of the Z.

Good to hear that GM has done wonders with the new Zs seat. I find them comfortable as well!!

I misread the title of this thread as

Wife's back, problem gone. I was like what the hell?

Nope. She is just glad to make it home after experiencing your enthusiasm with your new car.

We call that the C6Z! I hated road trips in that car and only ever took one. Mine wasn't mag ride, so it was stiff.

The old Top Gear joke about driving over a dime and knowing if it was heads up wasn't far off... for a GT car. Fine for a track car though.

Good one!!!!

Took a drive from LA to Vegas yesterday, best sport car seats ever! Wishing the cooled seats were better though. 5 hrs drive, one stop for fuel; the car felt perfect

Hmmmm. So I see the title of the post, and the fact that Steve the sheriff was the last poster, and I'm thinkin...some smart guy has posted about getting lucky in the Z with the better seats and all and the guys are getting warnings about details, pics, ect...

Nope, an actual post with concurring opinions that the seats are good. Suweeeet.

I'm pushing 74 years of age(73 and 11/12's) and I drive my C6 Z06(W/O mag ride and with run flat tires and the stock suspension) all over the country. On a road trip I normally drive 500-550 miles each day(leave the motel at 7:30 AM and check into the next one at 5 PM). I normally do 2,500 to 6,500 miles trips covering 8 days to 13 days. The longest one day drive was 869 miles, only stopping for gas, potty break and lunch. I actually had a motel reserved at the 500 mile mark, but felt so good when I pulled into the motel, that I cancelled my reservation and continued driving for another 369 miles.

I guess I'm just tougher than you are(even though I'm a senior citizen), as the car doesn't beat me to death as you describe it does to you. In fact my C6 Z06 doesn't beat me any worse than my Mercedes 4 door sedan, on a road trip.

I'm surprised you made it that old with that attitude. You wander around telling people that you're tougher than they are, eventually someone will prove you wrong.

I still think the C6Z blows as a Grand Touring car. Glad you like yours.

Plus I have had four heart attacks, five graph bypass, am a cancer survivor, in an auto accident doing 90 MPH(totaled two of my cars). I also have limited use of my right arm because my long bicep muscle is not connected to my shoulder and I have degenerative nerve disease in my feet(and I drive a M6 Z06 that require using the clutch pedal and shifting).

Yet I don't whine about my C6 Z06 beating me up if I drive it further than to Walmart, like you do.

Sounds like riding in the C6Z has caused a lot of damage to you already. Whereas I drive a C7 and none of that stuff has happened to me, I'm in great shape!

If I want to be impressed by a tough person, I'll visit my mother. She's a lot older than you and apparently a lot more durable.

Do they have mandatory driver testing for old people where you are? 90 at your age sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Oh wait, it did!

Must have been the C3(that got driven by me around 1,000 miles annually as my 5' 105 pound wife drove it to work everyday) and the C5 that only had 30,000 miles on it in 10.5 years(when I traded it for the Z06) as I had my first heart attack in 1979(age 36) and had the bypass done in 1995, and had cancer in 2001.

My body was shot long before I purchased my 2009 C6 Z06 in July, 2008.

According to you it sounds as if I were to purchase a C7 Z06, I would have a 20 year old body within 3 months after buying it. Can you guarantee that?

Really, I have friends that have driven their C6 Z06's on road trips and don't whine about the ride, and the C6 Z06 section in this very forum has plenty of people that rave about how great the C6 Z06 is for a road trip car.

I think you just want to **** on the C6 Z06.

I had the 90 MPH wreck when I was just 27 years old and the last time I drove 162 MPH on the track in my C6 Z06 was at the age of 69(and I didn't wreck it). The last time I drove 150 in Mexico was at the age of 71, and I didn't wreck it. In fact I continued on to complete my 6418 mile road trip that I was on at that time.
