I've decided on an early retirement and will be liquidating my '16 Z06 which I own free and clear. Love the car but it goes in this scenario. Looking for advice as to what this vehicle should bring via private sale. It is a 2LZ, Shark Grey, PDR, red seats with black inserts, ACS side skirts and splash guards. The car was purchased 3 months ago, is in showroom condition, and has 900 miles on the clock. What is a reasonable asking on this car? Thanks in advance for advice.

A8 or 7M transmission? Wheel type? Transparent or painted roof? What was MSRP? More information necessary before you can expect more specific response.
I worked for a BMW dealership for about 8 years in my first retirement. The best way to get a clear understanding of a car's sale or trade in value is to go to CarMax for an estimate. They will give you a piece of paper saying they will give you X dollars for the car during the next seven days, and they stand behind it. This is an excellent representation of a local wholesale value and may even be a little higher than normal trade in value. My experience has been that most dealers will match or exceed a Car Max valuation to get your car on a trade in if it is one they want. To get a retail value at which they might advertise it, I'd say assume about $3k to $5k for a dealer's desired profit on a car like a Z06 and then maybe another $3k-$5k to get to an advertised price from which they can discount. Remember that they can usually get higher prices than private party sales because they offer financing and will take trades. Also remember that normal depreciation results in about a 50% loss of vale in the first three years or so, with the biggest hit in the first year. The wholesale or trade in value of a used car, especially a near-new one, is heavily influenced by what is happening in the new car market. If similar new cars are being discounted, that drives down the price of the used cars. Having said all that, if you get a buyer who really wants the car, you will do very well. Good luck with the sale.--Bob

A8, Dark Grey(almost black) wheels. MSRP was $91,500.
My 16 Z07 had an MSRP of $113k. Traded it in with 1200 miles. Dealer was lucky to sell it at $85k. Expect to take a bath if you are anywhere near a large Corvette dealer that discounts heavily

WHY did you trade it in after only 1200 miles????????????
Looking at eBay sales that actually completed and sold, it looks like 3LZ convertibles bring the most and 1LZ coupes the least, which is kind of what you'd expect.
From looking at the numbers I'd say $75-80K is about the top. It might then retail for 85, get sold for 82 (those are just conjecture).
I'm in Pittsburgh... You may want to check out CarSense in Robinson.
Being that it's so new, they're just going to look at the MSRP and make you an offer based on that.
They don't know there are volume vette dealers a few hours away offering 8-10% off of 2016's brand new... like most of us forum freaks know about.
if your sticker was 91, i could see a chance they give you 78 and there is no hassle then.

Thinking more along the lines off 20% of MSRP for a trade... Ugly but that is the market now.

WOW!!! I would see what Sun would offer you first. I would then go to CarSense. Just for the he!! of it you might want to put a For Sale sign on it and go to a few car shows. Now is the time to sell it here in Pittsburgh. I'm a dealer and if I can help you get a hold of me..
Agreed... Take it to cars and coffee in cranberry Saturday morning... and stick a sign in the window.
It should be a big turnout... Between the weather and the vintage grand prix guys racing at Pittsburgh int'l just 20 min away
ouch....I bought mine as a gift to myself for retiring early (age 59)....you only live once! At some date in the future you will regret selling it......I would look at my options again and work it in......if $80k is the difference between retiring or not, then you dont have enough money to retire early.....just my 2 cents!

Had the same thought as I plan to quit work next year myself,
Probably going to take about a 20% hit on it but you may get lucky if the right person comes along and wants it. If you're going to sell, do it now. It'll be much worse come fall and winter.
