Default Anyone interested in swapping tail lights?

Swapped with an Artic White Stingray owner on Sunday, 7/17.

I picked up a Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic 2015 Z06 last Saturday ... black wheels, black calipers, black mirrors and carbon fiber roof. I love the way it looks but I'm not crazy about the "white" tail lights. Anyone interested in swapping their red tail lights for these white ones? If so, please IM me. I'm in Orlando, FL.

Thanks,
John

Since all of us are z06 owners and have clear tails you might want to post this in the regular c7 forum as those are the guys with the red tail lights.

Thanks, I did not realize that.

Apparently I'm not the only one wanting red as I have found a few photos of Z06's with red tail lights.

Thanks again,

John

Why dont you ahead and swap the front grille?

Now you'll have a Z06 that looks like a Stingray.

Aside from the fact, that you either can't type, can't spell, or just believe in poor grammar in general, do you have anything positive to say?

27,693 posts...wow...let's see now...that works out to like 6.897 posts every single day for the past 11 years.

Do you even have any life at all, or do you just post here all day and night? Do you actually drive your Z06 at all? Oh wait, do you even have a C7 Z06?

Amazing that you even have time for anything between posts.

Also check the For Sale/Wanted section as I've seen a lot of C7 Stingray owners wanting the clear Z06 tail lights. Personally, at first I thought they looked washed out, however over time I've grown to like them. I especially like them on Arctic White, Blade Silver, Black, and the grays - Cyber/Shark/Watkins Glen. However I think the red tail lights look better matched up with Long Beach Red and Torch Red. For the other colors it's more of a coin flip.

Good luck.

I don't get it. The clear lights are a signature statement for the Z06. I can understand the Stingray owners wanting to dress their car up like a Z06 and they are just posers. I can't understand the owner of the top dog Corvette wanting to make it look like a lesser car.

I would like to switch to the red tails also. Is there a vinyl overlay or paint that will work? How much trouble is it to get the tails out?

You have to remove the rear bumper cover ... total of 30 screws. You do not have to take the latch cable loose as stated at the top of the thread. Nor do you have to unplug cables if you support the bumber cover on a nive thick cussion. Hardest part is removing the bezels and it's not very hard. Bottom of p. 3 in attached link shows easy bezel removal. It took us about 1-1/2 hours this morning to do the swap.

Here's a link for DIY: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...r-removal.html

When I posted on C7 General Discussion that I wanted to swap, I had 8 guys waiting in line to do so.

Funny thing, on CheapestGMParts.com :

White Z06 Tail Lights are: $494.24 for set
Red Stingray Tail Lights are: $848.25 for set

Almost looks as if GM is conning Z06 owners.

Curious, no?

Your negativity toward other members is becoming tiring. Change the batteries in your calculator or learn how to use it.

Good find and makes no sense to me. Red plastic or clear should cost the same. Maybe there is an extra manufacturing step for the red but I doubt it.

Interesting. I'm thinking the red or white decision may be different based on the color of the car. Sort of like black wheels. Not sure why the white is less but who knows?

No big deal to me because I dont see the taillights when I drive and 99.9% of the people behind me cant make the distinction.

Why does liking the look (personal preference) of a certain color tail-light make you a poser? Some people just like the aesthetics!! It would be a different story if they took a base and put Z badges on the car. Let the man enjoy what he likes! Keep things positive!
