So I was returning from Central Oregon to Southern Oregon and had to go through mountain passes with light snow and rain. Decided to switch over to Weather mode from Tour mode. After going along for some time both my wife and myself noticed the ride seemed much harsher than normal.... like it was in track mode. Tired to rotate the mode dial back to Touring mode and it skipped all the way over to Track mode which wasn't where I was wanting it to stop. From track mode it skipped all the way back to weather mode. Repeated many times with the same result. Finally gave up and left it in the Weather mode with the firm suspension setting. Has anyone had this happen? Reviewed the owners manual and tried to search the forum with no luck. When I returned home and turned the car off and it reset itself to tour mode and the ride was fine after that.
I also had a 2014 Z51 that also did the mode skipping from Weather to Track until the car was shut off but not with the hard ride issue.

Not trying to insult anyone's intellect here.
But if you are in weather and turn the driver mode select one more turn to the left it will take you to the track mode. And if when you arrive there you go back the opposite way thinking you jumped past the other modes it will take you back to weather mode.
ALL ways turn the **** in the same direction if you are in weather or track for at least 2 tries. Generally you will then notice the selections progressively or regressively go full circle but skip from weather to track in either direction.

Yep I know that.... and it didn't seem to matter the direction of the turn. It would only stop at track or weather until the car was turned off. And even if that was what I was doing that doesn't explain the harsh ride in weather mode.

Ok just making sure. So you definitely have a mode select issue.
I would take it to the dealer and have them verify it.
It is a system that communicates on the data bus. So if it isn't operating properly or matching the selector position it will show a code in the system (BCM) even though it may not initially be of high enough priority to cause a check engine light or warning on the dash.
You could try calling ONSTAR, they can read some of the codes from the car. Not sure if they can drill far enough down to see a code that isn't causing a warning or CEL. But its free and surely worth a try.
Will give that a try. Had the service manager at the local dealership check and he could not find any recalls or issues from Chevy on this problem. Thanks
