Procedure to reset steering position sensor?

Procedure to reset steering position sensor?
I need to do this reset after my alignment. Does anyone here know the correct procedure or must I go back to the dealer? (I'm away from home now on a trip)

Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Centering
The steering angle sensor does not require a centering often. Centering of the steering angle sensor might be required after certain service procedures are performed. Some of these procedures are as follows:
Wheel alignment
Steering gear replacement
Steering column replacement
Steering angle sensor replacement
Collision or other physical damage
Electronic brake control module replacement
The steering angle sensor centering procedure can be completed with a scan tool using the following steps:
Using the steering wheel, align the front wheels forward.
Apply the parking brake, or set the transmission in the Park.
Install the scan tool to the data link connector.
Ignition ON, engine OFF
Select Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Reset in the Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Module Configuration/Reset Functions list.
Follow the scan tool directions to complete the reset procedure.
Select Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Learn in the Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Module Configuration/Reset Functions list.
Follow the scan tool directions to complete the learn procedure.
Select Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Learn in the Electronic Brake Control Module Configuration/Reset Functions list.
Follow the scan tool directions to complete the Learn procedure.
Clear any DTCs that may be set.

Looks like a Dealer visit is in order. I presume "Scan Tool" means a Tech 2. Tech 2s are available all over the internet but 99% are Chinese knockoffs that don't do what a GM Tech 2 will do. Unfortunately GM Tech 2s are now made in China so it is literally impossible to locate a real one unless bought directly from GM

Alignment shop already did the alignment. The alignment was needed because I had the rack out while I put a harmonic balancer in. The alignment seems to be straight now but just steering angle sensor needs to be reset apparently. Alignment shop tires Plus doesn't know how to do this.
Do I have to buy a Tech2 scanner? Can I buy a universal scanner and a better price? Any recommendations on which one?
