Looking for some of these. I have read about ACS guards and Xpel coating. Xpel is out because I have no one in La that does it. Are the ACS wide enough? Which ones are you guys using
"actually work" is a misnomer. I have the GM splashguards. They "actually work" to some extent; they cover an inch of the tire so they knock down an inch worth of stones. Some get past. you have to go wider (much wider) if you want ALL the stones knocked down. I personally don't like the look of the wider ones.
I have ACS skirts, Xpel ultimate on the rockers, and the GM splashguards front and rear. I do not get chips down there.
Not sure where you are in Lousiana but I would guess you gotta be pretty deep in the bayou not to have any paint protection film options......

Agree with posting, and would look at CLEARTASTIC as an alternative and any good tint shop should / would be able to install for you if you do not want to do yourself. Check with supporting vendors here, but just GOOGLED and the following came up to gvve you an idea
On a 2008 Z06 with no side skirts; a 2013 427 with side skirts---really a Z06; and a 2015 Z06 with no side skirts for a total of some 30,000 miles I have used the Apsis guards and am VERY satisfied. Yes they are way over priced, but they have worked for me.
I have read here on the Forum that others are having good luck with guards from O'Reilly, or something like that, going for only some $12 or $13. Also on the Forum here it has been noted that the OEM GM guards, the GM guards you get from the dealer, and the ACS guards are not wide enough---I can attest that both of the GM guards are basically useless. No actual experience with the ACS guards.
Some don't like the 'wide' look of the Apsis or O'Reilly guards, but...........we can't have it both ways if we want a guard that helps prevent the road debris from hitting the lower sides of then car. To be honest, in all the years I have had the guards only 3-4 idiots, that didn't own a corvette, have commented about them looking too wide-----99.9% of the people don't even notice, and the corvette owners that do, virtually all liked the look or said they look like they came with the car.
