Another TPMS Q
And GMPartsDirect says the old "part number" can not be used in place of the new part number.
Does that mean that the 1560 TPMS will not work and relearn in later C7s? If so when was the change made? It is enough trouble that GM changes TPMS every 4-6 years, but to change again in the middle of the C7 run is difficult. They did it in 2010. Did they again do it in 2016? Or was it 2017? Or was it June 1 of 2016? What are they up to?
Edit: I was just about to head over to the garage and pick up 2 of my extra sets of Wheels/Tires from my C6Z to get the 1560 sensors installed. Given the difficulty of doing that with ZPs I certainly don't want to do it twice. I did order a set of the new 8775 sensors from GM as that is what is showing for my VIN (16 Z06). So now I have 2 sets of 1560 sensors that I have no idea whether they will work or not on a 16. Anyone with a 14/15 need sensors?
Edit2: Well, it appears that one set of C7 slightly used sensors I bought here is actually the 8775 part number. So I will end up with 2 sets of 8775s as I need and will only have the one xtra set of 1560 I bought off of a 14 Z51 owner. And that may or may not work depending on its upward compatibility.

I just did a search of the forum, and the earliest mention I saw of the 1359775 sensors was in Sept 2015, so I'm quite sure those sensors in my OE wheels with Sport Cup 2's are part# 13598775.
I got a set for the street of OE wheels with PSS from an owner that had a 2015, and I haven't broken down the tires to see what sensors are in them, but they work great on my car.
However, I did buy a set of C6 ZR1 Cup wheels that had Sport Cup 2's and C6 sensors. I swapped out the C6 sensors with the C7 part# 13581560 sensors that I purchased from a forum member.
I had those 13581560 sensors on the car for a track event a month ago, and when I got them from the tire shop I checked and they had pumped the pressure up to about 35-36 psi. I left those high pressure in them so I could tell if/when they relearned into the TPMS.
I drove above 20 mph for about 3 minutes and all those higher pressures started popping up in the DIC, so I knew they had all programmed themselves into the TPMS. And they worked great for the track event.
I'm quite sure that either part# tire pressure sensor will work with the TPMS in your car.
Just MHO, your mileage may vary!

I did warn the shop (North County Tires and Wheels in Escondido near SD, Ca) that I was bringing back the ZR1 wheels with the RFs. He said that he had learned how to do them. Agreed that his first set took him all day. He said the secret was getting the bead totally level. He showed me how he just depressed one side to change the sensor on the non RF and then put air to it and the bead popped. He said you have to totally dismount the RF and get it totally level on the rim and then put plant air to it.

I took them the wheels I bought with C6 sensors in them, the ZR1 Cup wheels with Sport Cup 2 ZP's, and they took 20 minutes to swap the tire pressure sensors in all 4 of the runflat tires. Like you say they did with your non-runflats, with my SC2 ZP's they just pressed down the outside bead and pushed down the sidewall and reached in and removed/replaced the sensors and reinflated the tire which popped the bead back onto the rim - no more problem than with non-runflats. And without having removed the tire from the rim the tire was still in the exact same place on the wheel as before, so no balancing was required. It only took about 5 minutes per wheel to swap out my tire pressure sensors.
If a tire shop knows what they're doing, they shouldn't have any problems at all working with ZP/runflat tires.
