Default Circle D 8l90e stall converter

Chris at circle D has come thru yet again. They now have reworked oem converters offering 3 to 3600 rpm stall speed. I'm going to pick one up problem do 3000

Given our torque curve is there as much to be gained as you'd expect? Since we make ample torque and have so many gears, it's a far cry from a high-winding smallblock with a powerglide.

Torque multiplication is still a great thing of course... I've love to see before/after results from someone with one, presuming the car was set up well enough to hook!

That's good news for sure for A8 owners. Last time I spoke with them was a few months ago. At that time it was looking like a 3200 was the best could be done. Once a 4000 can be done I will be ready.

I'm interested as well. Even though my Comp Cam is kinda small it still lurches at times.

Obviously the A8 trans gearing is very well placed out of the hole. Rear gearing sux but the trans gears more than make up for them. Enter the world of high stall converters.

My C5 nitrous car with a 5000 stall (motor 100% stock) With bolt ons was quick very quick. I added a lot of nitrous and holy crap.

I was going to go NA like my last Corvette (C5Z) but my C7 ended up Procharged with a P1 small blower @ 534 whp. What I learned was I love NA and I wish I went again that way.

My Procharged C7 feels pretty good but.... With traction (does really well) a 4000 stall should produce 1.45 60' with only a blower and stall.... All else being stock with a tire.

Pretty cool if you have a small blower (on 5.5 lbs of boost) a trans converter and ALL other is stock and can run a low 10 sec pass....

I almost had one installed during my build, but no one has had good results with one yet. Please keep us informed on how it works out.

Whats the price? Do you have to send a core in to be modified or are they in stock?

we have done a few and they work very well. on a z it's not really needed as our bolt on cars will do 1.4 60 fts. a centri car or turbo car will benefit huge from it!

How are you tuning for the converter? Is the lockup clutch working ok with what limited tuning you have?

Seems like no one can make the stall converter/trans work correctly together. I don't think its a converter problem, its something more tune related but.... Every car I've seen that's tried to run a stall converter, shifts like *** and flares through the gears, then after the 5th gear shift they flare/slip all over the place.

These cars are hard enough to get them to shift right when making 700+ as it is, the converter really seems to antagonize the problem...

IMOP...
