Default Poor HVAC

I’m I the only one with lousy HVAC. On day one with the car it was 95 degrees. The AC was just barely cool. I thought I did not have something right and called a dealer. They told me the auto control was no good on the C7’s and I had to turn the temp to low and fan to high. I did and it was better but not good. I added the seat cooler and still not a comfortable car.

Tonight I needed the heater. Same story. Turn the temp to Hi and manual fan. The seat heater also takes about 30 minutes to get warm. My 66 Pontiac had a better system without a seat warmer. No it has not been back to the dealer yet but it will be. This is shameful.

my 08 C6 was the same way but it worked, just slow to react sometimes. This car has been better but the temp sensor at least on the driver's side definitely works similar to the C6. My 16 Sierra (same controls from what i can tell) works the same way now that i think about it?

My 16 Jeep GC limited is quicker to achieve desired temp for sure..
but in all vehicles the heater and the ventilated seats work quickly are both sides the same way in your car?

With My C6 the HVAC was perfect. I too have noticed that the Z's AC is not as good. Sometimes it seems it's not cooling at all. I too plan to visit dealer about it eventually.

My 2008 C6 has great HVAC. The AC gets cold quickly it puts out enough air on auto and the seat warmer works great.

Strange. I'm very happy with the heat and AC, but not so much with the seat heaters. Agree on the Jeep GC, we have an overland and that thing is unreal. The heated steering wheel gets so hot you need to turn it off after 3 mins. Heated rear seats are nice to.

A little off topic, I believe there's a TSB on the heated seats correct? I need to check into that.

In the summer, if you are not getting sufficient cooling, press the recirculation button. The auto system will not do this for you. If you select this, the intake air is from the cabin rather than from outside. On a 95 deg day, you really need this.

If you have the glass roof option, you either need a solid roof or an insulated shade installed to keep the sun out on really hot days.

What does having the HVAC reflashed mean?

I bought my car June 16 and I noticed the air conditioner worked a little better than average but not great. I had it on auto the entire time. I did notice that the vents would flip back and forth from dash to feet outflow and then finally settle down to dash and feet air outflow

There is a setting for the fan control. It defaults to (if i recall) about 50% of the available fan speed in auto mode. It is adjustable to allow the auto fan speed to have up 100% speed. Once you do this its as good as the previous gens until it gets to over 90ish degrees out. Then you will need to run the seat fans and go bi level to remove heat from the floor area as well.
