Front splitter removal
I have just ordered a 2017 Z06 . It has a stage one splitter from the factory.
Since it will be touchy if the car will go up my driveway even at an angle with the splitter attached I have instructed the dealership not to install it when the car arrives from the factory.
Two questions come to mind.
1. How much of a PITA is it to install and remove the splitter in case it can make it up my driveway but may be problematical on some trips to other locals?
2. Is there enough access to install Dzus fasteners as the attachment mechanism? I used them for years on a high six second Rear Engine Dragster with never a failure. When the car shook the tires occasionally about everything else would come loose at times including welds but the Dzus fasteners always held on the body panels, nose piece and air scoop without fail.

Thanks for the reply. I thought I read in one of these threads there was the drilling of rivets involved in removal. This wouldn't be difficult but continually doing this would become tedious aside from eventually probably enlarging the rivet hole.

I removed my Stage 2 splitter and on the front edge I had to drill out 10 metal rivets and use new ones when installing it. They are 5mm rivets. Plus a lot of torx screws.

Cowboy is correct. You have about 6 screws and 10 rivets as I recall. I just switched mine out. On a side note, everyone should jack their car up (on jack stands properly of course) and just lay under their car. The engineering is FN amazing on this car.

They are called Rhino Ramps. They are rated at 12,000 pounds capacity. I got them from Advance Auto for about $60. Do a search on line for Rhino Ramps.
Just checked Amazon and they have them for $33.00. That's cheap.
