Wheels off last week to replace the brake pads with power stops and you
Are correct the wheels say made in Mexico by Ronal. They seem to be of good quality and I agree that at least on my 2016 torch red they really do pop!

I had to replace two of mine from a pot hole leaving the dealer. One was made in China the other was Mexico. Both were the stock originals. I think they just throw them all in one bin. My replacements had a couple areas that were not polished too. The chrome (outside) part of the rim is pretty sturdy, the inside on the other hand is pretty flimsy and is the part that gets bent. With this in mind, I think all the rim choices have the same design.

To be "Old School", which means to add Chrome wheels to match the rest of the chrome/silver on the car (like I did back in the early `70s) or the dark/black wheels to match the black vents (like I did to match the car in the 21st century).
There is very little silver/chrome on the exterior of this car and therefore chrome wheels really don't match well.
They can work better if the cars exterior paint is white/silver, etc. that helps match with the chrome wheels.
Add some silver/chrome exterior items and then it can work.
Good luck with your decision.

The popularity of black wheels is finally beginning to fade and will become "old school", as with any fad. They may look OK close up but from a distance they make any car look junky as if it were missing its wheel covers. Any color but black is the way to go.

A little off topic but I figured this was the place to ask. I have chrome wheels and would like to get them re chromed. The question is: does re-chroming the rims weaken them???

When I ordered my ZO6 the other day I had selected the black aluminum wheels but I am starting to think the Chrome Aluminum wheels will look better... Are the Chrome Aluminum wheels a very good quality wheel? They are charging a lot for them and I would imagine so but I'd rather hear it from people who own them.
Thanks!
Thanks!
