I have also heard black wheels called gangsta, ricer rims and even yesterday's look. Forget fads, get the look that you like.

Have chrome here as well ...haven't had any issues at all. Had the
Wheels off last week to replace the brake pads with power stops and you
Are correct the wheels say made in Mexico by Ronal. They seem to be of good quality and I agree that at least on my 2016 torch red they really do pop!

I had to replace two of mine from a pot hole leaving the dealer. One was made in China the other was Mexico. Both were the stock originals. I think they just throw them all in one bin. My replacements had a couple areas that were not polished too. The chrome (outside) part of the rim is pretty sturdy, the inside on the other hand is pretty flimsy and is the part that gets bent. With this in mind, I think all the rim choices have the same design.

I like chrome as well, never have liked black, but I am a old guy, I like the sparkle of chrome.

There is very little silver/chrome on the exterior of this car and therefore chrome wheels really don't match well.
They can work better if the cars exterior paint is white/silver, etc. that helps match with the chrome wheels.
Add some silver/chrome exterior items and then it can work.

Good luck with your decision.
Easily solved by ordering chrome wheels with chrome badging.

The popularity of black wheels is finally beginning to fade and will become "old school", as with any fad. They may look OK close up but from a distance they make any car look junky as if it were missing its wheel covers. Any color but black is the way to go.

Agreed, black is so played......almost all of the super cars are now equipped with chrome rims.

Chrome is the way to go!!!

A little off topic but I figured this was the place to ask. I have chrome wheels and would like to get them re chromed. The question is: does re-chroming the rims weaken them???

Thanks!
I love mine and they have held up well.

Check with Corvette Mikes up in LA!

Trade them in on some beautiful BLACK wheels!

Sorry, but chrome requires ALOT of upkeep! I've had plenty of chrome in the day...but no more.

I've have both and would say my black wheel require 4x the upkeep and are at least 4x harder to clean. Just my experience

I disagree - chrome wheels somehow look more "mechanical" or engineered. You can see all the details of them. Like these on my new GS I got two days ago:

That is what I did. The dealer suggested it saying that whenever they ordered chrome wheels on Corvettes for stock they also ordered the chrome badges.--Bob

Great minds! I ordered chrome rims and chrome badging on my 2017 Z06 Watkins Glen Gray car which is in transit to Washington State.
