Yup I took mine back twice for the "service rear axle BS" and then it happened for a 3rd time and I called GM and got a case#. I took it to dealership at appointed date and they went to work on it.
All three times they said it was wheel speed sensor on the same wheel. This time they replaced the sensor and the little gears the sensor connects to. But what they did find during all that was that there is protective shroud or something like that that was not reinstalled correctly and it rubbed on sensor causing it to fail. Each time they replaced sensor it only would last like 500 miles and go bad again. They figured only the first one was bad and because the same technician replaced the original and subsequent ones there were failures. The additional tech that was helping apparently did it by the book step by step and noticed the other tech skip a step and didn't install protective shroud in correct order and when they looked up close it was rubbing so they corrected it and I've been problem free for 10months and 7k miles.
Good luck and hope this helps!

Today I got a call after a week and change that it was a bad "Differential Cluch Pump" on back order but safe to drive.... sound familiar? Thanks for the feedback. Let me know if that seems to make sense, I'll pass your info to my tech as well.

no mine wasn't safe to drive as told by GM person I contacted because stabilitrac is a "Safety Feature" and that their "Legal Dept" would have their *** if they let you drive it with a safety feature not functioning properly. Yes they explained to me that we can disable the nannies etc etc and should we lose control it's between us and our insurance company but if a safety is malfunctioning then GM also gets thrown in the mix and they don't want that to happen. They even offered in an email to pick up the car at my house once all the parts arrived at dealership. I had to decline in the email and respond that I would drive it to dealership instead.
Goodluck!!
Car will be fine. Just wait for the parts and drive the wheels off of the rental
I agree! I know it can be frustrating but it does happen at times and GM will get it right! I went thru it 3 times and I couldn't be happier now. FYI the dealership installed the Ceramic tint on the car while they had it and threw in a very very nice Car cover all free of charge for my troubles!!
