I am wondering whether or not you can give someone else your Ron Fellows discount. I most likely won't go and don't want to see it go to waste. I might just give it to someone, but I am not sure if you can just give it to someone. I remember reading a thread about this, but I didn't find it.

I would suggest giving Melinda Hastings at the Spring Mountain Raceway a call. As Spearfish noted, the discount is by VIN and in the name of the original owner. She should be able to tell you if you can transfer it.
You should go. I wasn't going to, it seemed a little out of my comfort zone, but I'm glad I did. We aged from 36-73 in my class. Men and women. I had zero track experience, as did some others, but some of those with experience said it was the best driving class they'd done. I learned more in those 2 days than in 8 months of owning the car. They are really nice, call them with any questions.
I was told immediate family only and at their discretion. I asked about how will they know they are family or not or is there any verification. She got very pissed and said, "if we are going to lie about it, its best we not go any further"..
I also asked if they could extend the 1 year date and I was given a very stern NO! I have 3 certificates I want to or need to use.

I don't know about transferring, but bought my Z in August and am deploying in December. I didn't think I would be able to get into a class before I left, so GM extended my certificate by 30 days so I could attend upon returning next year.
Spring Mountain added an additional date in November which worked into my schedule, so I was able to attend.
So it is possible to extend the certificate under extenuating circumstances. I spoke with a lady named Jennifer who was more than user friend for me.
Unfortunately only immediate family can you use it but that's it. Vin and name must match and they do check. You must show ID and credit card when you check in.
If it's in any way feasible, you should definitely go to Spring Mountain. Trust me, it's an experience you will not forget and you'll be glad you did it in the end.
Thank you everyone for you opinions and info, seems like a lot of you think it's really worth going! I want to go, and I can tell it would be a great experience to learn about the car and all. Quite honestly I am busy with school and I won't fit in with the group of people that will be at the driving school. Daniel Toombs said his group ranged from 36-73 and I am much younger than that. Also I have a year to decide so who knows maybe I will change my mind. I wouldn't mind going in December, but ill be busy with work, and classes start up in January. Best bet is to go in the summer, but ill most likely be doing extra classes over the summer. I think you guys see what my point is, I was just wondering if i could hook someone else up and let them save some money and at the same time they could have some fun but its seems like it can't be given away. One more question... do they have a certain schedule for the school? How often do they do the classes? If I find time and all I will defiantly give it a shot. Thanks for all the info!!

Heh, as long as you're a car lover, you'll fit in. That's all anyone talked about. I was the youngest in my class, at 36, but I didn't feel out of place. Most of the instructors were actually very young:
