For me has to have Spice Red interior, carbon fiber stinger hood ,carbon fiber flash mirrors,Ordering in spring . Will be interested in other responses.
PDR, which I believe only comes on 2-3 LT/LZ cars. My Stingray was a 3 LT and my ZO6 is a 1LZ. All the carbon and suede stuff I don't miss or need. (Can you tell I bought the Z for performance?)
To be honest, because the darn car is so great, in conjunction with the fact there are so many great combinations, colors and options that I was open to many variations. A lot of the choices got narrowed down for me to what the dealer I purchased from had in stock (I went with a dealer that was reasonable to deal with with regarding my trade, etc.). A big dealer had more choices but was such a jerk and soooo unreasonable regarding my trade ($10K less than 3 other dealers who had never seen the car; and $15K less than what a small local dealer gave me)------all were sticking to MSRP at that time.
I know it is crazy, but I wouldn't get one that didn't have the heads-up display----I just love this feature, but other than that..................as for colors orange and yellow were tied at rated 10, with 2 to 3 others rated 9.8. I ended up with torch red--which I love. I prefer a manual because this is my toy and shifting is fun for me and my children, but an auto wouldn't have been a deal breaker if everything else was fine (car came with the stick); same with the roof tops---convertible or coupe----both have advantages and disadvantages and I have had both in the past and enjoyed them both (the small dealer I purchased from only had the one Z06---it was a coupe). Side skirts or no side skirts wasn't a concern at all. For the 2015's the differences between the 1LZ and 2LZ weren't really significant except the 2LZ has the auto seat memory (that rarely works anyway) with the other difference being immaterial to me (# of speakers, auto adjust mirrors or something, etc.) , so I leaned to the 2LZ. Also think the heads-up display came with the 2LZ. The 3LZ was just a little more money than I wanted to pay at the time.
Again, it is just such a great car I don't think anybody could go wrong with whatever they purchased. Best corvette by far that I have ever owned. Sorry for such a long answer, but my car has been put away for the winter in my garage for over a month now----and I miss riving the darn thing! The warmer weather can't come soon enough!
With 650ftlbs of torque my general answer to any option was "Yes, Please!" so I went 3LZ and added every option that was available.
I figured with most cars you're fighting power to weight, but you're really not here. Sure, lighter is better, but you know what else is better? MORE is better.
For me it was the HUD, PDR, and actually - the dash, even though it's standard. I would have paid for it as an option over the old analog setup, and really wish they expand it like the Escalade, as I can't see the side gauges anyway!
3LZ for the upgrade leather and interior (which i Have and it's a plus it comes with PDR/NAV) but knowing what i know now i would have liked the CF exposed Roof/Hood. Love the look really classy.
I ordered mine as I wanted. Convertible, manual tranny, black rose with 3LZ kalahari interior, ground effects and external mirrors with carbon flash (had regular carbon on my 2014 Z51) and the black wheels. Since I got the rag top, no need for the Z07 package. Wanted the non-comp seats as I use the car for long drives and find the regular seats more comfortable for the longer ride. I immediately added X-Pel over the entire front end. Will add the splash fender guards when I take the car out of winter storage in the Spring. They worked well on my Z51.
Having had a transparant top on my C6, then nine years without one on my 07Z06 and feeling like I was in a coal mine, I'm overjoyed that it's so light and airy inside my 16Z with it.
3LZ would have been a must have if I suffered from Nappa Leather Caressing Syndrome and felt it was ok that the color didn't cover the entire door panel, but my 2LZ has plenty of good features.
Last, my carbon flash hood stinger really livens up the hood.

For me; it's Jet Suede interior package, Comp seats, and CF roof
Any options you didn't care for but realized how awesome it is now? Anything you missed out on and now regret?
M7, HUD and PDR 2LZ was important to me but the car I found did not have PDR. I wished my car had Comp seats but now after 20k and many track days I rather have the stock seats, soft, comfortable all while still very supportive. I've driven Z's with Comp seats and at my size not as comfortable for a mostly DDer. I would have my roof rapped for $150.00 before paying GM thousands just to see the carbon, really! Don't miss NAV at all my phone works fine. You will enjoy the car either way they are awesome
