Default Z06 reduced engine power issue

Hello. I am new here. All the help would be appreciated.

I have a C7 Z06 Z07. Stock. 5900 miles. A8.
Was driving a little aggressive tonight in Mexico and all of a sudden i felt i blew the motor. A message pops up (REDUCED ENGINE POWER), Speed limited to 30 mph and traction control lights comes on along-with check engine light.
I cant switch to Sports or Track mode. Its on tour mode
I drove it in that condition for like 1 mile max. And while driving i felt rpm jumping up and down.
I switched off the car when got home. Checked motor. Everything seems perfect no smoke or smell. I start it back after 30 min. I see only check engine lights on and its back on Sports.
Any reasons as to why this happened ?
will be contacting my dealer after a week cz i will be out of town from Monday for work. My whole trip will be fkd up cz of this stress :@.
It cant be heat. Its 28 degree tonight here. And no i did not do this on cold engine. Drove about 1 hour under 50 mph. I just drove it a little hard on the exit of my house.

Answers would be appreciated!!

Scan it for codes. Something not good happened. And don't start it any more though at this point it probably is what it is. Hopefully you have an intact warranty. Sorry man.

Yah not starting it anymore. Going to wait till Monday now to check with the dealer. Yes I do have warranty intact. Thank god I did not get into someones word on getting headers install done on it. Or else I would have been screwed big time lol

OnStar can pull the code for you if you don't have a scanner. You said it runs ok now so I'd assume there are no significant issues and it can be driven. The light might be staying on because of a recent code in history.

I've had the car go into "limp mode" after banging the rev limiter on an M7. Power reduced message, slow to 30mph, etc. OnStar read the code and determined it was an anomaly. If you restart 3 times without the conditions present the C/E light will go out.

Another indicator for these events is a steady C/E light is a "minor fault code" and you should take to the dealer at your convenience. A blinking C/E light is a "critical fault code" and you should go immediately to the dealer and/or be towed.

Hope that helps.

The onstar ran diagnostics and gave a code P288C. Its something to do with fuel management.

I had the same thing happen after starting my car and trying to exit my parking garage:

Car would hardly drive said reduced power mode.

Parked it again hard to get back in spot actually.

Let sit has never happened again.

No idea what went wrong thinking a bad computer boot up?

Happened about 5k miles ago.

Because of how cold it was it could be the low tempature thresholds. I have hit that three times as my Modified Z does not get up to tempature.

I dont get any CELs though.

Well i got onstar to give me the code. Its fuel related issue. Will be taking it to the dealer. The code ends in C so it means the issue is current. Thats why the engine light is not going away even after starting it back on after 13 plus hours.

Just happened to me 3 days ago. Right after start up ( on a warm motor though drove an hour earlier) Hit reverse to back out of my shop and it threw " Reduced Engine Power" up on the DIC. It was like driving on 2 cylinders.. My shop OBD reader wouldn't pull a code so I just reset it and it's fine now. I'm thinking it was initial start up and going into reverse before all the computers got to working...

I have had my 2005 Vette in the shop for the past month. The car runs fine and then for no reason the Traction control light comes on and car goes into reduced power mode, Dealer thought it was the throttle control unit put a new one on the problem returned. Took it to another shop and they said the computer was bad and changed that out problem happened again after one day Anybody have any ideas?????
