Pic heavy Delivery post 1/21/17 throwback pics from Mike Furman at Criswell**********
~~There will always be rumors surrounding the Corvette Plant, production and future product. I try to distance myself from digging for information, of course morsels of info comes my way but trust me...if GM wants you to know something they will leak it. GM holds Corvette info tight to the vest. I attend the Corvette Bash in late April to learn from Harlan and his co workers what is new for the upcoming model year. Seeing it is believing it.
~I wish I had a total count of how many Corvette Museum Deliveries that I have set up thru the R8C Museum Delivery program. The cost of this option is so well worth it. I get calls/emails from my customers after they arrive back home and you can hear the genuine excitement still in their voice. This July 26th marks my 40th year selling Corvettes and as I near 4,000 delivered...I still enjoy each and every Corvette delivery. I have owned 18 Corvettes but have yet to pick one up at the Museum...maybe the next one!
~Joe R. from Kathleen, GA called me 7 weeks ago to Factory Order his dream Corvette, 2017 Z06. Long Beach Red with Dark Gray interior and loaded! 7spd manual trans, CF hood inset, CF exposed weave roof, Chrome wheels, Z07, 3LZ Pkg and so much more. Next week he will complete the Museum Delivery! Thanks to my KY friend Adam E. for taking some pics on the Museum floor. Joe was really appreciative to get them.
~Pedro M. from Olney, MD was referred in to me by our Commercial Parts distributor. Pedro called me this past Monday and came by to view our inventory. Pedro landed on a Watkins Glen Gray Z06 Cpe with Adrenaline Red interior and 7spd manual trans. Stunning color combo!
~Local businessman picked up this Grand Sport in Admiral Blue with White stripe, Black interior and red seat belts...great looking combo!
~Jay P. stopped by so I could install his license plates. He is thrilled with his Silver/Red Grand Sport.
~Billy K. from Rockville Centre, NY had his very special Callaway C6 GS chosen to be on display at the Corvette Museum as part of the 30th Anniversary of Callaway. Callaway has a big display until early May inside the Museum. I am looking forward to seeing it in late April. I first met Reeves Callaway in the 1986 time frame and of course Chris Chessnoe does a great job for Callaway as the National Sales Director. Callaway will have another big display at Carlisle late August.
~This coming Friday I will be at the Wash, DC Auto Show from 11am-2pm as GM has asked me to attend but wouldn't tell me where I finished up in the Top 5 for sales. Let's see what happens.
~Throwback pics and old Corvette ads...some of these pics you can just barely see an old Corvette. Make a post and tell me which picture you like the best.
*I believe the new paint facility that opens up in the Fall will be much better than the St Louis paint facility back in early 1978 for this Indy Pace Car.
1965 soft nose concept car

Mike,
Fantastic thread, as always. I feel like we all already know where you land in the Corvette Sales standings last year lol
My favorite pic? impossible, but I would say the Chevy add of the woman by the C2 in the stream eating a peach? Man, that's pretty racy for that era!
I love all the Carlisle pics most, as it takes me back to last year, when my wife and I met you and was the prelude to my first new Corvette purchase..
The Malcom Conner pic also brings me back to a time when a good friend purchased a C4 and while looking, went to that dealership which was really cool and something at the time you don't realize that the place wouldn't last... it was the "showcase" of Corvette showrooms from what i remember..
Lastly, the turbine Semi pic in the yard of new (old) pickups and the split window on the back of that custom hauler were fun. Was that split window pic from a carlisle event?
Here's looking to better weather sooner than later as it's going on almost 3 weeks without driving my Z06!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks

Great pics as usual, Mike. I really like the CF hood inset. An option I often regret not getting. Maybe next time.

pbc engine build Callaway LS3
Always enjoy your weekly review. Could you clarify one point regrading the Callaway Engine build for the LS3. I thought for C6 it was only the Z06 LS7 and ZR1 LS9 that offered that option with GM at the build center in MI.

Great thread, Mike.
All the pics are great.
I like your '67 in the thread response.
Congrats on the 40 years of service - fantastic!
Maybe they'll award you a complementary museum delivery for your next Corvette purchase delivery...

pbc engine build Callaway LS3
I couldn't agree more as I built my Z06 LT4 in October and was the 8th build of the year. It was truly awesome but as you know only the LT4 has this option now so very surprised it was offered on a base engine back then for the LS3. Thanks and I look forward to your Sunday quick view.

LS3 Engines in Manual trans coupes were dry sump engines, and thus built at PBC in Wixom. As such, one could do the "Engine Build Experience", as Billy did. He was the only LS3 guy to do so.
