Default Plastic Intercooler Tank

Just a question. Has anyone removed the stock tank and used a aftermarket tank inline only? Daily Street driving and Drag Racing use, No road track.

I've thought about it but haven't acted.

Do both.... I run a plastic edelbrock tank and the factory tank.... makes fluid capacity changes very easy, no more worrying about "air bubbles" and the tank is like $60 from edelbrock

I have an aftermarket coolant tank inline to add Ice to for Drag strip this worked well in my Whppled then f1x procharged 5th gen Camaro, that being said I don't see a need for the small plastic tank sitting down low keeping a air bubble. But maybe doesn't matter for Street Strip car

Yes, I have done this with an approx. 1 gal. plastic edelbrock tank with it's mounting bracket, modified/cut stock hose. I seen no real improvement, so I took it off. See my thread below for pics, etc.

Awesome captured the PID pic, the stock tank is in return loop and it wouldn't matter if it was removed as long as I had the upper tank in the system For ice. Living in Fla we battle heat I'm going Ice water, octane, and flex fuel sensor I really don't want Meth for a street strip car. And you are correct the lower tank can stay in or out with no difference in my op. I will be removing it when I have a reason to pull off the front fascia... Thanks for the link.
