Default Halltech/Tune Question

Happy Friday all...

So I currently have the (Non-Tune) version of the HALLTECH CAI with the TRIC. I've decided that at this point, to get the very best out of the car and my mods an aggressive tune is in order. Going to my old friend Chuck Cow to perform the duties!

My question is this: Is my non-tune version of the HALLTECH only different by means of the filter? If so, do I absolutely need to get the tune version of the filter and if so will Jim provide it for me or do I need to go a different route? Or can I use my current filter with the tune. How does the TRIC come into play with this? Anything special of different I need for this? I know there were some updates with these units and I have the original version from the 1st group buy. Love it and want to make sure Im set up for success.

Thanks Guys!

There's two filters - the oiled and non-oiled one. Only the first gen intakes came with the oiled filter (the higher flow of the two).

Either is fine with no tune. The MAF sensor cross-sectional area was created to keep it in within safe limits, generally.

I don't know much about the TRIC, but if you want to MAXIMIZE power you could easily buy the high flow filter first, then tune. Just realize it doesn't filter particles as well as the non-oiled version.

Changing filters or intakes at this point.....Won't really change it very much....

Once you tune up the car it will run really nicely.

Let's talk monday to make some plans when we see how the weather goes....

It's starting to get really busy in here!
