Z06 warble?
I posted in the C7 general discussion on what seems to be a famous "Warble" thread and was told no Z06 was reported with this warble so far, so wanted to check here if anyone experienced something similar to this faint "Warble" with a Z06 and if this may be normal.
My car is a 2016 Z06 A8.
There is certainly a similar warble noise like in the video that goes around in the general discussion thread, only much much fainter, the PDR can't really pick it up, but it is there.
It also doesn't seem to be at a specific RPM range, it is more depending on speed (50-60 mph seems like a good range to make it happen, and I can go through all gears in manual and hear it at pretty much any RPM for a given speed), also it can be heard best when taking my foot off the gas. I'm assuming that any noise due to acceleration may mask the "warble" noise, or maybe accelerating eliminate it.
I don't know if this is something recent or was always there, I noticed it only lately while it was still cold outside and I was cruising calmly with the top up so it was quiet inside.
Does this rule out the warble issue?
Can it be tires/road noise?
Bad alignment (car goes dead straight when leaving the wheel and I don't see any uneven tire wear)?
Bad Diff?
Low diff fluid?
Any other suspect?
The dealers around here are incompetent at best having hard time even doing an oil change right, so I trust input from the forum much more than theirs, and I don't fancy driving 200 miles to a decent dealer for nothing.
Any thought for cause or if this is normal?

Warranty: New belt tensioner AND belt

How do you know it's not the AFM-belt tensioner thing? Mine's only done it very rarely so I'm not worried about it, but it sure sounds similar to me from your description, particularly the part about lifting at 50-60 mph.

If you are hearing this while in Manual mode then it is not likely the belt/tensioner.

For all of you thinking belt tensioner, I had mine replaced a couple of days ago. The noise was a whining sound and went in time with gear changes. I have had the warble in the past and the noise is distinctly different.
