BBB Autoline C7 repurchase decision
Received an arbitrator decision on April 14 requiring GM to repurchase my C-7 (A-8) for track overheating issues based on the Nevada lemon law. I have not received cash or turned the car over to GM but after three months of an arbitration hearing and GM trying to reverse the arbitrator decision things are looking good to enforce the decision.

3 mos., plus an appeal to overturn? What was the basis for requesting an overturn of original decision? Glad it's ending for you but some might like to know the logic here.

Used the "track ready captions" in the Corvette sales brochure to explain why I
purchased the 2016 Z06 C-7, PDR reports to document the track overheating issues, low mileage to document all-track use of car, taking car to dealership four times for overheating issue, and filing state lemon law documents on time. GM used PIP5311B for a defense. Arbitrator determined there was a nonconformity (defect) in the car. Now, Tadge Juechter's comments on Corvette Forum related to 2017 upgrades for over-heating issues for 2015 and 2016 models could be added to a case.

Yeah - I suspect this is just a one-off lemon-law settlement for one person, one car, in one state.
But...we'll have to wait and see!
I don't do any W2W racing, just fun HPDE type stuff, and I have an M7 anyway, so I don't have any overheating issues.
But every student I've had with an A8 overheats. I prompt them to put it in manual and short-shift with the paddles, but I'm amazed that almost all of them have never driven with the paddles and have a hard time initially. And they still overheat - just get a few more laps before it happens.
Good luck getting the problem solved!!

Downtime, sure. Track overheating? I bet they're smarter than that.
If you bought the car for primarily that purpose and it couldn't serve it, then I'm glad you got resolution. I don't think it's appropriate for 95% of the rest of the Corvette market though...

"...every student I've had with an A8 overheats. ... Bob, when you say every student with an A8 are you saying all A8 Corvettes including non-Z06 LT4's? Or, just A8 LT4's?

I've only ridden in about 4 or 5 A8 Z06's at the track over the last couple years, and they have all overheated. I think they were all at Daytona events in Oct and Dec 2015 and 2016, and it's still warm at Daytona in December. One was a Black C7.R Special Edition with an AFE cai, and I believe the other several were completely stock.
I don't remember ever having a C7 Z06 student with an M7!! I guess the A8 way outsells the M7. In the MANY years I've been driving I learned on a manual, and my wife and I have never owned a vehicle with an auto trans - that is until several years ago I got an F-150 to tow my car/trailer to track events. I was surprised that you could ONLY get an auto, so that's what I got. I still use the little switch on the shifter to blip the trans down through the gears for engine braking EVERY time I'm slowing down - just like I do with the manual transmissions in my Vettes and Harleys.
I'm amazed that the A8 drivers have such a difficult time paddle shifting - the one's I've driven with seem to have never tried it before. Usually after overheating in "Drive" we'll pull onto pit row to cool down and I try to get them to go into "Manual" and use the paddles to shift at 5500-6000 rpm, but after a few minutes and the car cools down a bit and we go back out, they end up hitting the rev limiter and not downshifting effectively when braking. Between sessions I've taken a couple of them out to drive around the infield (at Daytona there are plenty of roadways) to practice paddle shifting up and down, but I guess if you've never driven anything but an auto trans in Drive mode you're just not used to that "shifting thing"!!
Bottom line, I don't recall instructing in but one LT1 with the A6 and a very inexperienced driver, so it didn't overheat.

Vette Gone!!!!
Turned the 2016 z06 C-7 Corvette over to GM yesterday. The process was a big hassle but well worth it!!!!!!!!!

Hope you are satisfied with the net proceeds for all your work to accomplish this and that you are able to move on to something you find more acceptable.

I cannot find that.

The fact that GM hasn't added an air to air EOC to the new cars and retrofitted the older ones is ridiculous. Using the tranny cooler for the M7 to add capacity to the coolant system is a band aid in my opinion. There have been a bunch of tuners on here fixing the issue and doing the R&D to show how to fix it.
But remember it's less than 5% of owners...doesn't matter if it is less than 1% don't advertise something that can't be backed up.
